Iowa got backed down all night giving up 50+ in the paint yet neither Josh or Riley saw the floor. Any chance they can borrow Luke Lachey after the bowl game...lol
1) How many other P5 schools ask their O-Line to learn 2, 3, even 4 different positions?
2) How much do they miss having Reece Morgan on staff to help develop the 1-2 star recruits?
It's a shame there wasn't more of a focused effort on getting guys like Uhlis/Murray/Perkins significant minutes in the earlier blowouts. There needs to be an infusion of lateral quickness into the rotations.
JT (Uhlis)
CJ (JBo)
Connor (Keegan/Patrick)
Wieskamp (Keegan/Patrick)
Garza (Nunge)
With Braithwaite now the Strength & Conditioning coach in a year already challenged by Covid-19 and no spring practices would a former Hawkeye cheerleader known for his positive energy who happens to also be a former strength & conditioning coach at University of North Dakota for 2 yrs be a name...
So many on this board have moped, whined, and complained about the men's shortcomings all season and simply fail to grasp the idea of being a fan of the University of Iowa regardless of the sport.
Let me kindly sum up what I have read over the course of the season regarding the men's program...
Jordan has also been playing nearly all season with a rather painful foot injury yet giving his team 35+ min per game. I think the increased scoring of late has a correlation to the plantar fasciitis and hopefully it is getting better as I can see in photos he appears to have a bit more lift or...
Would add that Fran did have a more long-term vision when recruiting Trey Dickerson as we would have had him as a Sr this season to teach and push the younger point guards but transfers happen.
Perhaps I am in the minority but I have been pleasantly surprised by what Bohannon has been able to do this early in the season when you consider the injuries and number of differing line-ups Fran has put on the floor together in the first 10 games (not too mention most are also true freshman)...
I tend to agree and also think we could see a change in lineup as the coaches continue to mix and match. In the end I believe main rotations it will be as follows with Fleming also getting spot minutes.
Gesell / Clemmons / Williams
Jok / Ellingson / Clemmons
Uthoff / Uhl / Jok
Uhl / Jones...
Did not see enough of either to really say but the general observation after Hutton and Moss got in was one of confusion. They were lost on where to lineup for out of bounds plays and even heard Flemming trying to direct them to cut or switch sides of the floor, etc so hopefully the game slows...
