The Big 12 is Dead

You truly desire for ISU to be relegated to a non BCS school dont you? I am surprised you didnt start the car and close the garage door after Saturday honestly.

Instead of stopping at that post you should have kept reading, he said he thinks they will land in a BCS conference.

Now if he really means it, that is another story. :D

Take it easy, he just said he thought the Clones would land in the BCS. Each fan base makes jokes at the expense of the other one once in a while

Oh I agree but Miller loves to jab the knife in ISU's death whenever he can.

I would expect not expect ISU to go to SEC, PAC12 or the B10. They have little to offer. No market, no winning record, no history.

I think the SEC will take ISU. And they should after the Cyclones' performance on Saturday.

One win overrides them not having a winning percentage against any B12 team except Baylor?

They won't be competitive in any BCS conference. They need the MAC, MW or some other small conference.

Hey- have no fear for ISU! I got into this debate with AUMMMM on Cyclone Fanatic and he assured me that Iowa State had a conference and all was well. I was trying to be nice as I have no "hatred" toward Iowa State other than a few select games/ wrestling duals during the calendar year. Too much history in my family on both sides of the rivalry to harbor horrible ill will. Anyway, AUMMMM let me know in terse terms while I was trying to be nice that 1. The Big XII was in fine shape, just listen to T. Boone Pickens. 2. The TV Contract was for the conference, with NO stipulations on what teams comprise the conference so 3. Even if the conference fields six teams, those six would split the massive TV Contract Pie!

Boy, if any lawyers from the networks really drafted such a document considering how unstable the Big XII appeared last summer much less now, they should be disbarred.

To be clear, I am not ripping on ISU. I just got a kick out of AUMMMM, Civil Engineering Graduate from ISU class of 1972 explaining to me how stable their conference was. And oh by the way, before any of you go over to CF and start flaming him, you should know the following: Per AUMMMM, the sight of our logo makes his blood boil, he hates the HOKs, and EIU. (Took me a while to figure out he wasn't referring to Eastern Illinois. Guess I'm just naive that way.)

But don't worry- the Big XII is fine. Just ask AUMMMMMM.

two for one, yes. Straight up home and home? Don't think you can do that...but a two for one wouldn't likely work either...a three for one would work due to the math required to make it fit on a long term scheduling basis with the years where Iowa has four home games and five roadies in the B1G...but a two for one would not work due to the every other year nature (factor of two) of the B1G 5/4, 4/5. has to be an even number in the total...1 and 1 (home and home) works...2 for 1 (adds to an odd number) would not...3 for 1 (adds to an even number) would work.

If ISU ended up in a non-BCS conference, would they get paid a little more to come to Iowa City if they agreed to a 2 for 1 deal? Or even better, we just played them every other year and they always came to us?

As I stated in a previous thread ISU will never not be in an AQ conference, ever, no matter how the media twists it, I can guarentee you that.

My hope would be the series would end before anybody in Ames would agree to any of this; which is really your ultimate goal anyway.

All it is is fear out of Jon. He fears Rhoads and knows exactly what is building in Ames. But hell I dont blame him.

This is a ridiculous statement. Is there a good chance they end up in an AQ conference? Sure, but believe me, there is no guarantees when you are in a low population state in a dying conference that has very little to offer another BCS conference no matter what your boy Pollard is telling you.
