Watching the PTL games

If Fran didn't think good PGs were important, he wouldn't be out trying to recruit one every year. He just can't close the deal. Fran has to put the players that he has on the floor. I get that. But that doesn't mean I have to accept that it's a good situation or a good option. Nor does it mean I have to let you sunshine pumpers tell us how great it's going to be.

Fran is trying to recruit good players at every position. Stating that obvious fact doesn't help your argument.

But he can't land a PG. That's my argument. Your attempts to frame my comments incorrectly, further demonstrates what you need to do to overcome your low basketball IQ.

I didn't know that if you wanted to actually watch a few games before judging the new PG, that this was considered a "sunshine pumping" move. I mean who knew that you had to declare the PG position a complete and total failure after 1 PTL game in order to be "realistic" and have a "high BB IQ".

Yet in another thread he tells us that Fran getting a Center who has offers from Georgetown and Louisville, and Indiana would be a "mistake". I mean off a Jr. year highlight film Lightning has discovered what these successful D1 coaches are missing, the kid is FLAT FOOTED! I mean these coaches have seen him play numerous times, and have had him in for visits and worked him out, and still they miss this. How can this be, as Lightning discovered it in a 2 min. highlight film!!!!!!

Maybe Lightning is actually coach K?

He landed one in next year's class and he landed 2 guys who can play point in the last two years. Those 3 don't count tho because they aren't short, quick, black guys.

You realize CW is African American right? Don't know why you keep playing that card.

Maish Daily is skinny but he has nice potential. Good handles. Above average court awareness. He'll be a better shooter once he uses better shot selection. He's a 2 or 3 yr project but I like his upside. I feel much better about him after seeing him in person than I did when I saw his video. He'll be fun to watch progress.

Like his potential but at this point having a 3 year project where you get 1 impact year out of a guy is really frustrating. If that is the case, then wish Fran would just go the grad transfer or transfer route instead. Hoping a prospect sticks around 2-3 years and develops to give you 1 year is not what a rebuilding young team needs. Better hope he doesn't mind not play much for 2-3 years and sticks around instead of transferring and wasting a scholarship for those years instead. Hoping he turns out to be a huge surprise.

Which probably won't fly against B1G teams. Give me a quick traditional PG that can handle the ball over one that scores in the post

This. Ben Jacobsen is the Kirk Ferentz of state of Iowa basketball. Guy develops players like crazy that Iowa/ISU would love to have and finds some true gems that Iowa/ISU miss on.

Aside from all this talk about whether Bohannon can play pg, one thing that really sticks out to me when watching all his highlights, is his shot release is so quick. Teams really are not going to be able to sag off of him like they did with Gesell.
