Watching the PTL games

He was out of control the entire time. I don't know what he was trying to prove but he had quite a few chances to gain Frans trust and he did just the opposite. We disagree on why tho. I think he showed plenty of ability but absolutely no value for the ball. Maybe he was too confident in his ability. In my opinion, he's the first player to leave under Fran for a reason other than not being good enough to play.

He left here because he wasn't good enough to play.

Andrew transferred to the correct level of BB, he was never going to be anything better than a role player at the B1G level.

Do you know this for sure? From quotes I read, he felt like he got a raw deal. I understand a lot of players probably feel that way. I would bet if you asked Fran behind closed doors, he would say Fleming was good enough to play but lost trust then left because he didn't feel like he was given enough of a chance.

You are doing the same thing that you were making fun of lighting over. Saying that after someone's freshman year isn't as bad as saying it after one PTL game but come on man.

If he was good enough to play here why would he transfer to Chattanooga?

Lol, not even close. For one he played in actual games last year, I'm not basing it off 1 PTL game. Two as 56 said if the kid were viewed to be a high D1 kid he would have had lots of places to land other than where he did. My opinion would be different if he say transferred to even a Rutgers level school (P6 school, but bad).

He had a connection with the coach. Does he not have to sit out a year there? I'm not sure. Also what does a kid do who was at college for a year and barely had stats? Not many colleges are going to bother with someone like that.

And you are saying he will never be good because he didn't wow you during the first few games of his freshman year. Like I said, it's not the exact same thing but it's in the same ballpark. (Pulp Fiction)

The good ones transfer to other high major programs and it happens often. There's hundreds of examples of kids not playing or not playing much and still transferring to a power conference school

He was talented enough to play. He wasn't good enough to see minutes pulling the stupid cap he pulled on the court. His one problem is he was stupid with the ball. He could get open and get shots off at will as a freshman. People like to say anyone can get a shot off if they don't care about shot selection. Those people are wrong. There are guys that played over the last few years that couldn't get shots up to save their ass.

I'm not saying he was a for sure all conference player down the road. He may have never even been a starter. But he quite possibly had more ability to score the ball as a freshman than any other player Fran has had here. He is at least in the conversation. He was just really really over aggressive for the spot he was in. If you have access to any of the non conference games, go back and watch. He would do something really impressive then something really stupid a split second later.

No he wasn't which is why he did not play here and transferred to a Southern Conference school and only considered mid major programs when he transferred

You're talking about 4 stars that leave Kansas or Kentucky for more play time. Kids don't sit on the bench at Iowa then go wherever they want. 9 tines out of 10 it's because they suck. I just don't think this is one of those 9 times.

No I'm not. Plenty of examples of players that weren't at big programs or weren't huge recruits that didn't put up stats and still transferred to other power conference schools.

So you don't believe that a talented player can quit getting minutes because he was stupid with the ball whenever he came in?

I don't know why you think he's so talented. He didn't play here and transferred to a Southern Conference school, it doesn't get much more clear than that. If he was talented but only wasn't getting minutes because he was stupid with the ball he would have had power conference schools coming after him when he got his release. You seem like the person to be overly optimistic about players so maybe you just bought into him too much or something but you're not being realistic on this one.

I highly doubt you know that. You really pay attention to kids who get no minutes and leave for another school of similar prestige?

I think you think that I have a higher opinion of Fleming than I actually have. The kid had talent. Maybe not enough to have D1 schools drooling at the chance to give him 4 years of scholarships to get 3 years out of him. But he was good enough to be a pretty good upper class man at Iowa if he stayed.

How could you know that? He spent the season behind BE who was at best mediocre this last season and then transferred to a Southern Conference school. At least I have some factual information on why I don't think he was good enough to play here

Because I watched him play. His individual moves with the ball were good. He has a quick release and is a good shooter. He was also the 2nd leading scorer in the PTL. It is literally impossible to score that much in that league without talent. And please spare me the "it's only the PTL" post you are about to type. Everyone else was playing in the same league as him and they didn't score that much. It's not like he was going 12 of 50 shots every game either.

I'll say this one more time for the slow. I'm not saying he was going to be a stud. I'm sure as hell not saying he was going to be a stud because he scored a bunch in the PTL. I'm simply saying the kid is a talented scorer who could have become more over the next 3 years.

You're basing his talent level off watching him play in the PTL. Hahaha
