Yes, officiating was awful, but..

It wasn't because of the refs that we lost. They made the game boring though, never called a reach in which makes for some terrible basketball.

Michigan State took advantage of this and we didn't as much.

#truth

Plenty of chances to win this game. Gotta make the FTs and lost points on the break with bad passes, sloppy handling, and weak takes.

Extremely embarrassed with this loss. We have one of the greatest coaches in the nation and we choke like that. Make your damn free throws.

Gotta win games like this. MSU tried to give this game to us and they crapped all over themselves.

and, on cue, the trolls come out. seeing how they are still butthurt from yesterday, makes sense that they'd want to pee in our cheerios.

The thing is - by now Iowa HAS to know playing MSU that they are going to get mugged. They shove, bulldoze, hold, hack all game long. It happens in all the games. If the players weren't ready for that, then it's bad preparation. Know your opponent and have a gameplan. Iowa got shoved and didn't shove back.

Also, Jim Burr is just the worst.

That's what drives me nuts about college hoops. I don't get why refs decide to call a game like that, nobody wants to watch that ****. If Iowa weren't playing I would have turned this game off in the first half.

That flop on the low post by Michigan State when the ball was passed into McCabe should be shown over and over to the Big Ten officials who called it. Same with the 3 pt phantom foul. NIX backing over people... yet tic tac fouls on Iowa down low. Sick.

Don't believe that what was created the loss. Need to be much tougher going to the basket.

Need to be much tougher. Basabe and McCabe were the toughest but not enough...

bui what really lost the game where "throw aways", turn overs. these are correctable mistakes.

Finally, Anthony "played too hard" and couldn't make a shot given the 2nd and most important game against his home time rival.

In 2 months Iowa will beat this team when it counts.

Let me run it down it for you:

Head Official: "Did you see the flop boys, was it the right call?"
Eddie Hightower: "Yes, yes it was."
head Official: "And why was that the correct call Ed?"
Hightower: "It benefitted Michigan State"
Head Official: "We're never gonna make you retire Eddie, you GET it."

**edit, I know EH wasn't officiating but it's for visualization purposes. Insert any official into the Hightower quotes***
