Woody does it again pulls the hat trick

It's an uncoordinated dude with lanky arms that he still doesn't know to use properly. Careless? Maybe. Intentional? I don't believe so.

Yeah, not intentional at all. .....sure.

It wasn't intentional. Woodbury needs to pay attention to it, however; there is a pattern.

The thug's foul of White later in the game was a much more dangerous foul and should have been a Flagrant 2.

There are a bunch of very tough fouls in the Big Ten every game

That wasn't face guarding. Even Rick Mahorn thought it was "probably" intentional after watching several replays, and he poked a few eyes in his day.

And I like Woody.

I don't think it warrants further action though.

We have the dumbest bunch of homer fans in the BIG. Shameful. I have nothing against Woodbury when he isn't playing like a thug. He had a great game, this recent eye gauge not withstanding.

Thank you! I don't like that kind of basketball. Other than the comments I have made when Woodbury does that stuff, you will not find anything I have posted that is hating on Woodbury. Trust me. If he played like he did today, without the thug ball, I'd be one of his ardent supporters. I have been fairly even handed with Woody, since he got here.

Here's a thought...

How about all you idiots that want to criticize Woody STFU and the rest of us support our guy. As has already been mentioned, it is clear that it was not intentional by the reaction from Woody when contact was made.

And for the "fan" who posted the pics... watch the video again... his hand was not pointed level at Trimble's face.

Lol, were talking spread over 20 + years of playing ball man. If you haven't seen most of what I described than you haven't played enough.
I have and I don't believe you. I grew up with 2 D-1 ball players and 1 played for Iowa. I used to play pick up games in the Field House 5 days a week, with a lot of Hawkeyes. I even survived one game with Jake Jaacks. I managed to keep all of my teeth and my eye sight.

BLINDdogscooter...is it? Well, I'm not sure a vision check up would even help you out.

That's exactly what it was. He was putting his hand up to obstruct Timbles view and accidentally poked him.

No one would purposely commit a foul in that situation. Everything a player is doing in that situation is reaction and instinct. you don't have time to contemplate poking someone.

I may not be the most knowledgeable when it comes to basketball, but are players not taught to have your hand up near their face to reduce the chance of them pulling up for a shot (Wisconsin pokes). Further more is it crazy to believe that Woodbury may have put his hand to prevent a shot from Trimble? I'm pretty sure I've seen him pull up for shots in that area, including a few floaters. Had he done this it would have been a hand to ball situation. Finally, when hand hit eye he recoiled, a common reflex when something is unexpected. Had he done it intentionally I believe that his arm would have been more rigid unless he put his hand there to gouge Trimble and was surprised that he made contact.

If you've never poked or been poked in the eye you haven't played much.

It happens all the time. So do teeth getting knocked loose, it's why so many guys wear mouth guards now.

What's really unfortunate, is that this is all people are talking about and and Fran's response in the post game really takes away from what was a great team win.

It looked intentional but I have to believe it was totally accidental. Woody would have to be a real dumb sh^t to do it intentionally after getting called out for it last time.

Poking a guy in the eye because you were incredibly frustrated because you were getting dominated the whole game? Maybe. Poking a guy in the eye during a game you were completed dominating both personally and as a team? No chance at all. Why the hell would he? We were in the mist of a huge win and the entire team had to be sky high.

He has absolutely no past history with this player and he already got called out for it a couple weeks ago. If he's dumb enough (and talented enough) to do it again, why pick a game like that?
