Wirfs suspended one game

How in the actual F can a scooter carrying at minimum 500 lbs of person going at 15 mph kill somebody. Some of you are acting like he was on the autobahn in a Bugatti going 150 mph. He was in town on Riverside Dr, there's no students in town so literally one car every minute at that location at that time of night. Hell he probably had all 4 lanes to himself. I don't advocate driving over the influence but lets not act like he was going to Evil Knievel off the Burlington St bridge or that this was the traffic he was driving through:

The law will punish him as it should, he'll pay a fine, his insurance rates increase substantially - the one game suspension is sufficient.

If your waiting for Kirk and Barta to leave didn’t you mean 3020? :D
Nope. I'm running against Kirk in 2020. I've been serving his players beer for years now and have been calling the cops on them. Using it in my campaign. Will also have lots of trick plays and donors to pay recruits in my bid to unseat him.

Please keep me under consideration for OC.

Yep the judge will slap him on the wrist and he hops right out of jail.:D

Well that is what the establishment has determined fair and just. I am not inclined to disagree one bit. All people make mistakes. The legal system is designed to weed out repeat offenders and the hardest of criminals. It is however not designed to jam up kids who made a pretty common place mistake. Rehabilitation is the goal not the crucifixion of people making mistakes. No matter how many individual sensibilities that offends.

Ummmm. Looks like about 135 pounds to me....on a bike

Charlie Alliston, 20, crashed into HR executive Kim Briggs, 44, at up to 14mph as the mother-of-two tried to cross the road on her lunch break

Don't forget a good pimp to supply your players with the proper female company. Hopefully sexual assaults will decrease as a result.

Again, the offenders name is Tristan Wirfs. Not Charlie Alliston. We do not punish people for the flaws of others. We only punish the individual for his or her own actions. Your protectionist mentality strips people of the freedom that our forefathers sacrificed for.

We need to protect the innocent! So let's take the guns, cars, drugs, booze and shit while were at it lets go ahead and take that privacy away too. Courtesy of your protectionist government. Your webcam says hi.

Jesus you sound like Rainmain. Let me guess - you'll never board a plane because at some point all airlines have crashed (except Qantas of course)

I'd like you to provide me with a list of activities that can be performed by people where there has never been a single incident in human history of a person being injured or killed. Tristan probably puts himself at more risk of injury by playing B1G Football than by riding that scooter. Where's your outrage against football?

Totally being irrational. Don't get on the forefathers hype. Besides, like it or not our forefathers were willing to use average people to protect their monetary/business interests. That's just history unless you want to only believe the mom and apple line. With the forefathers, the real truth is in the middle. Many of them lost money from the revolution and some their lives. But, it wasn't as altruistic as painted in history books.

The statement was made that 15 mph scooter can't/won't hurt anyone. They can do what they want on their own property, but again if he as driver wrecks and one of the passengers dies,he is liable. Laws are also about prevention maybe more than punishment.

You seem to confuse having fun with being drunk. I suppose you support smoking in restaurants where your children are?

You've got the high horse. I disagree with your premise and you don't like it.

With my usual disclaimer for Fry, we all come at this with our own experience. For me it was getting hit by a drunk uncle on a motorcycle driving at about 10 mph. I went flying. He hit my chest and legs. If I was smaller might have involved a head injury (let the smart assing begin).

You are baiting. You made a statement that was false by what you are saying. Your premise as wrong. Can we protect against everything? No. Driving drunk? We can catch a lot of it. The odds of a drunk scooter driving having a fun beneficial outcome is rather remote.

Comparing getting on a commercial airliner to drunk scooter driving in public is rather stupid. Generally the about liberalizing drinking argument is supported by people who like to drink...a bit too much.

None of us is going to solve the drinking/driving issue here. Keep making dumb statements about supporting it and you'll get responses. Let it die.

Actually (sorry Fry), I know someone who was on the Quantus flight that blew a door in flight. The guy next to him held on to the armrest and the armrest broke and out went the guy. This guy was an airline mech in Indy and yes he quit flying.

Personally I love to fly, but flying Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong is brutal. Yes I would be terrified to do that again. Limited English movies and small seats. Al Italia is terrifying too. The head rests aren't in the right position for me and the flight attendants have big noses. Scares me.

You're trying to joke around but most of your other stories are just as ridiculous.

Jesus you're dumb - it was a rhetorical question. Of course somebody can get hurt DOING ANYTHING as was my next point, which you could not seem to grasp. You are not taking into account ANY of the circumstances of the incident (time of night, very low traffic, very few if any pedestrians, very slow vehicle) into your risk assessment of what Tristan did. He wasn't flying around pedestrians on a brakeless bike during lunch hour in a heavily congested/high traffic article as was shown in the article you linked

The dumbness comes from the idea that people over the legal limit can make rational decisions such as...this is a safe time to do this. That is the definition of dumb. It is the definition of being in denial.

So being over the legal limit makes you unable to think rationally, in any way, whatsoever. That's your take? I've been over the legal limit plenty of times (I'm guessing because I've never blown over) and am still capable of rational thought - then again I'm a very logical and rational person. To simply make the claim that nobody with a BAC over .08% is capable of rational thought is a ludicrous and innacurate statement.

You just need to chill out. For one thing, for the average citizen .08 is super low.

That means caffeine, cold medicine any perscription.
That means that technically 99% of people on the road right now are under the influence of something.
At least he wasn't flying a plane full of passengers drunk or being captain of an oil tanker.
