This is one thing that drives me nuts over there. They have such an inferiority complex. They have to think that the BIG sucks or is terrible for validation. I think this will only get worse as they are in the bottom 1/2 of the Big12 and Iowa is in sole possession of 3rd place in the BIG. The really delusional ones think that Iowa sucks, or ISU is vastly better as you say.
 
Since when is a Cobra Kai high kick to the sternum a basketball play?

I get losing road games...the B12 and the B10 are tough conferences to go on the road and get wins...I don't care if its' Purdue, Nebraska, or Penn State...you better strap them up and bring it. Going to WV and having them drop 102 on you is another thing altogether. Do you see anyone dropping 102 on Iowa on the road? I don't because Fran would have to be restrained that we were playing defense like the 1970s ABA days. Aint gonna happen no way no how...that someone drops 100 on us. The clones went all Roberto Duran in West Virginia...NO MAS.

Ever since the Villanova player kicked Aaron White in the nose early in the first half and then jamming your finger in a player's eye became a defensive play when a Villanova player poked Aaron White in the eye with one finger sticking out of his fist, early in the second half. Whatever it takes to win.....

They really wanted to win that game, take out one of the two best Hawks and they have a chance, definitely hampered Aaron......

Watching Creighton ahead of them by 40 points in the second half in Philadelphia was wonderful. They were humiliated, same as the Clones tonight.....

Absolutely incredible, they should rename Cyclone Fanatic the Iowa State home for the totally insane. Bringbackmagic is willing to bet his life that ISU wins the national championship in the next ten years. So, who's going to his funeral.

IMHO Iowa and ISU are pretty evenly matched. In a 7 game series I take Iowa all day long. Clown fans seems to have some serious blinders on cause all they want to see is Hilton Magic=poor officiating in ISus favor at home. Right now these teams have pretty identical numbers in two pretty tough leagues. However, come tournament time Iowa has a lot more depth to throw at teams and doesn't have to die by the 3 as Ia can actually play some D. In the end I see the cyclones with 10+ losses and Iowa with 8 or less, still pretty close.

This is the biggest difference between the two fan bases and the two message boards. Even when Iowa State gets the living crap kicked out of them in Morgantown by an unranked team you don't see people over here calling them a bad team. Why? Because most of us have the rationality to understand that playing at an elite level consistently is a very hard thing to do in college basketball. Especially in the toughest conferences. The losses aren't as bad as they seem, and usually the wins aren't as good as they seem. The best teams end up being the ones who can bring their A game night in and night out.

Like I said, there is a lot more perspective over here. I understand that there are some posters on CyFan who do a decent job of keeping things real, but there is a lot of them who are just plain idiotic. There's no other way to describe it. They call Iowa a mediocre team. The Big Ten is a bad conference. No one on the Hawks roster would start for them. Fran is a bad coach. Aaron White has no talent. Paul Rhoads is slowly turning them into a dynasty. I mean it is just complete delusion.

I really don't understand it. These are people whom we live and work with, and for the most part they seem like normal Iowans. They just completely lack an ability to see things clearly when it comes to Cyclone athletics. Maybe it's a coping thing. Maybe it is what happens to a fan base that has grown so accustomed to rooting for a team that is almost always an afterthought.

I think they are just jealous they can never be Iowa....and they secretly want to have the tiger hawks on their unis and apparel. :)
