View of HN is quite funny.

I remember how some fans demanded that SA be fired...and when he finally left, they rejoiced as Iowa hired COY Lick....and Iowa has not had a winning league record since SA's last season....7 years ago....but hey, we are Iowa, where we absolutely know that the next coach is our savior. Bad hires outnumber good hires, and at a place like Iowa, bad hires leave a lasting negative impact....we are not ND or Michigan, where the reputation of the school will allow for a quick rebound from a bad hire. Iowa is not one of those places in either fb or bb.

No different than any other board forum around the country, excluding the top tier semi-professional football programs. It's called the "Bandwagon Hop". Get on when you win, jump off when you lose. Fire Kirk, Kirk is Awesome. Extend his contract. Fire all the coaches, get rid of Kirk. - The last thing the egocentric peeps want to hear around here is somebody pointing out previous threads to prove a point they made regarding winning or losing. They don't care. That's why its hard to even come around most of the time.

Before you get too carried away, you may want to review the salaries of coaches NOW...not when KF got has big contract extension. You better be ready to pay the next guy in excess of $4 mil.

You think Barta's going to pony up 4 million plus out of the gate? His basketball coaching hires indicate otherwise.

A little fact checking for ya ...

We don't relent because he's still here, doing the same things hes' done for most of the last decade, with the same underachieving, mostly fixable, results. It's inexplicable and inexcusable and deserves to be constantly called out until it is fixed or he leaves.

We are "cynics" because we are objective. Our cycnicism is a product of the clash between our love for the Hawks and our desire to see them attempt to execute a competent strategy with a competitive effort that matches their expected capabilities against this ill-prepared, mismanaged group that is trotted out between defensive stands, game after game, season after season. Our cynicism is the result of hopes and resonable expectations that are dashed with every avoidable loss to inferior teams, that occur season after season.

Those aren't snickers of glee, they are snickers of futility -- from knowing the disappointing reality that a player like Higdon (or Willies, or Daniels, or Canzerri, or CJB, or so many that have come before them) faces. That reality is the myopic restriction (mismanagement) of player talent, whether it be by scheme or opportunity, due to der KirkFer's ingrained bias against youth / favoring experience over talent -- "what if" they turn it over or miss a blocking assignment, in lieu of "what if" they could score a bunch of TD's.

If you want to talk relentless, these are the relentless truths der KirkFer has demonstrated. Cynicism is the product of merely acknowledging these truths, accepting they will recur, but constantly being asked to maintain faith that all is well, that he will do things differently or achieve improved results because he now has a 4* (actually, 3*) RB, when he hasn't done it with his previous 4* players.

Complete nonsense!

Utah had losing seasons the last two years.....so they finally have a good season and now they are golden?
KSU has 35 jucos on their roster....Iowa does not allow anyone with a pulse to be admitted, like at KSt.
Nebraska has the 6th most wins in college football history....Iowa is probably 66 in college football history....Nebraska has 360 something consecutive sell-outs, in a 92k stadium....Iowa averages under 67k and has one sellout all season.

Of course, Nebraska fans hate their coach also, so I guess we are in good company.

Excuses, excuses, excuses.

It's a miracle that we can even field a team with the daunting challenges that we face.

We should all just be grateful that we can get a first down every once in awhile.

I see the Negative Nancy Boys are out in force today!

It's always amusing to see the creativity and originality
as they attempt to say the same negative crap over and
over and over and over and over and over... ad infinitum...
as if it were ground breaking original thought.

Does the Sun ever shine in all ya'll's world? (see how I kinda did that CJ thing, there?)

(this post should be good for about 15-20 thumbs down... I'm going for the record!)

Based on results so far you might just get the record. It might be tough to catch o'keefe for the single day record. I don't remember what lit the fire but it seems like he got over a hundred in a day or so. It's good to have goals. Good luck.

Hmmm, same could be said about what der KirkFer Davus try to "hawk" 12 Saturdays each fall (see how I did that, there?) .

Quid pro quo, Scooty.

(For the record, I don't think I've given you thumbs down. Certainly never an up but pretty sure not a down.)

yes, those idiots actually root for their program....what are they thinking? Don't they know that firing the coach is always the perfect answer to building a winning program at Iowa? Mr. Davis in bb is a perfect example....that firing took Iowa bb to new heights ...so it is basically a gurantee that the next coach at Iowa will win more games than KF, right?

Um, to be precise: firing Tom Davis wasn't about someone taking Iowa BB to "new heights", it was about "raising the bar". :)

False.

KF's salary is still firmly in the Top 15 in the country. He makes more money than either Dantonio or Pelini.

He's #4 in the B1G behind Urbz, Hoke, and Franklin, and is only a few grand away from being #2.

let’s not forget that Iowa is one of the most valuable programs in the nation. I think financially we will be ok.

You get a thumbs up for that... 'cause that's just the kinda guy I am.

Funny kirk fans come in and scold us for being negative. Then they proceed to be negative towards Iowa on how Iowa is holding kirk down. Iowa has everything to be a good football school other than coaching.

We need more after the fact I was right kinda posts from everyone who ever gave an opinion in the last five years.

I'm cornfused. Am I a Kirk hater or fan?

Seems like ive seen you on both sides of the fence but I could be wrong i dont see you post much.

Well I do think it is time for him to go, as every coach reaches that point where it is just better to move on. I will never be a pitchfork kind of guy though, just not my style....
