Urban only get's 3 game suspension, Geesshh!

ID love to battle you on WHATS wrong with you, but THATS just not going to happen. I DONT have the time in my day and ITS just going to take you away from your book burning and socialist club internet chat. IM just not up for it. YOULL get over it. Hey, ID love to know how to use color in my posts if YOUD be so gracious as to share the information with me sometime. THATD be great.

Abuse happens because the world is full of terrible people. Abuse stops when the victim does what needs to be done. Look, this board has hundreds of people that would have helped her right? Hundereds of strangers willing to help her. So she couldnt fund anyone to help her over many years? The OSU community was her only hope? No. I wont accept it. This board is blowing up with people who would have stepped in and helped her in a heartbeat. Logic would say that in her personal life, counselors, law enforcement, friends, family, support groups, legislators, advocacy groups, internet chat groups...there is zero reason to believe that UM's failures to be a decent human being kept her from ending this abuse. Please. He's a class A jerk. We all agree. But we cant sit back and blame.

Educate victims on resources. In any abusive relationship there are choices that are made by the victim that are emotional, heart-wrenching and difficult. Blaming one part of the process is not going to change the outcome of future abuse cases. We can all agree that he's a jerk. I cant agree with legal or job threatening actions against a person for being a jerk.

What you are saying is old school, like the victim has caused it or is weak. If you are talking simple playground stuff, then maybe you are right. Abuse though is about power. The abuser grooms the victim and others through gas lighting. A victim getting hit up side the head with a phone is deadly. She's already been made to think she's the problem by grooming. The abuser knows how to create and use power/grooming. What strength does a victim have left when a husband makes her car look like it's been through a hail storm with his fists and broken the windshield trying to get her. Broken down a front door trying to get in and he's already made friends with the police.

The people who can stop it are those in power, not the victim. You really should read about it. Need to be gone for the day , but more later.

I wont accept that. I agree

100% with the information that you shared. You make excellent points and i agree with you on 99% of what you shared. Where I disagree, in my OPINION, is that it is his responsibility to end it. Should he? YES! The simple issue is the opinion on whether UM is a criminal for not reporting. Im not blaming the victim at all. But, at the end of the day, she is the one who must stand up. I disagree that we should pick out one high profile figure and BLAME it all on him. There literally has to be HUNDREDS of people to blame here if this is the path that you want to take. HUNDREDS.

Im stupid? Read your rambling, error-filled reply and use spell check and a spotter. Good lord. Nice try though. You are a complete mental moron. I said i dont agree with his actions but i dont agree that he is the actual perpetrator here. Zach Smith is the criminal. Every crying sally democrat here that twists and turns the feel sorry for yourself argument ignores the obvious. Prosecute the perpetrator. Why create more?

Everyone wants to blame everyone else. One man commited a crime. Its easy...very easy to sit from a far, sheltered chair and say i would have done this this or that. You arent Urban Meyer and you didnt have the same pressure, stress and or worries of being faced with something that was none of your doing and it involves violence and also his ability to do his job. I HOPE that i would have the courage to turn the abuser in and get involved in the middle of a violent criminal and his wife. My reward. Possible retaliation. Violence. My family attacked or killed by a crazy violent person. Yea, easy decision.

I dont want to hear statistics about victims. I understand and dont wish it on anyone. But when it happens to you, you can let things happen and stay on the mat or stand up and fight. Maybe she has fought? How long has she been with him? How long has abuse been going on? You know what? She plays the largest role in how long the abuse continues. Is it hard. HELL yes. Is it easy to get out? HELL no. But blaming Urban Meyer for it isnt the answer.

While some of your words ring true, there is such a thing as an accomplice. While I will agree he is not a black and white accomplice. Man he is awfully close.

I think most people wanted to see him pay with more skin for his decision to turn a blind eye. I never claimed that to hold Zach accountable would be an easy thing, but the man is paid 7.5 million a year to do the things that aren't easy. I'm sorry but I feel zero sympathy for how hard it was on Urban. Poor poor multi millionaire Urban.

Makes him a perp? You said he begged her? Who's in charge of that situation. Bottom line is it makes him an @hole, not a criminal. For all of the whining that people on this board do about KF and his lack of a killer instinct im guessing most would take UM and some controversy in a heartbeat if it meant wins and playoff appearances. Tell me im wrong.

For me personally, you are wrong. I have several of previous posts that I literally say the exact opposite.

Have any other coaches out there put out their 2 cents on this? Most will negatively be recruiting like heck against him for it now but will any of them have the stones to blast Meyer publicly for any of this? Think of if the rest of the BIG coaches in unison came out and just condemned the hell out of him for it all what that might do. I'm sure we won't and you'll be lucky to get any coach on the record even remotely blast him because coaching is a huge frat house and most of them are all guilty of hiring underlings they probably shouldn't have to lessor degrees.

You’re not even a good troll. I miss the good old days.

College Game Day panel talked about it. Not sure who it was said he talked to a current recruits mom and she said she did not see any problems with UM. So there's that.

I don't feel sorry for him. Quite frankly, i don't like him as a coach. I just can't get behind legislating or policing one's right to be a jerk. If anything, the freedoms that protect us in the Constitution should protect our right to privacy. The Declaration says that we have certain unalienable rights including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I'm not sure where in that defining principle of American democracy is the requirement that one must ensure other people's happiness. Common decency says help, but what if he didn't want to? It should not be a crime or something that prevents him from achieving his pursuit of happiness.

Textbook response, page 27 of the handbook.
"When getting owned and you cant think of an organized thought, call someone a troll in the hopes that they stop owning you."
Like I said, you aren’t even good. I gave you a response. You ignored it because you know you lose, but you continue to double and triple down on your “opinions.”

I actually find it quite amusing. The world is full of assholes. It’s just that few are so willing to showcase it as visibly as you and then claim it is their right. You are correct. It is your right to be an asshole.

Those first 1-3 games are designed for wins and to clear up suspensions for players and coaches.

It isn't that complicated.

Couple quick hitters. One she came forward to cops and people around her including Urban and Shelly Meyer repeatedly and they were more concerned with protecting the POS than actually helping. She did eventually stand up and say enough even with all those enablers, which leads me to believe she is stronger than you. 2nd, I don’t think anyone is talking criminal responsibility for urban Meyer, so that straw man falls over on its own. He didn’t hit her, but the moment he “counseled” her and didn’t disclose things he was absolutely involved and has some responsibility. Every good abuser needs enablers. Sounds like you could be a good one.
And third, your characterization of abuse victims is one of the dumber things I have seen around here, so doesn’t really need a response.
This? This is where you "proved" I'm wrong and a terrible person or A-hole as you so intelligently and politely stated? A couple of things for you. You continually make personal attacks against me and my opinion. They border on rage and honestly, I'd be quite a bit more concerned about your mental state than mine. Ive never called you an inappropriate name. I'm a Hawkeye fan. What are you? You are that threatened by another person's opinion that you stoop to name calling a Hawkeye FAN on a Hawkeye message board. My argument has two points. Urban Meyer shouldnt be the one under scrutiny, Zach Smith should be and secondly, a victim DOES have responsibility to end the abuse. If not, it would never end. Blaming Urban Meyer changes nothing. Hey look, he's still the coach.

Lets look deeper into your rage. So she told so many other people. Great. I feel really bad for her that no one would help her. Why is UM the guy to take the fall? Ill accept his punishment according to this part of your argument when dozens of other people are also fired or suspended without pay for not ending this abuse. Her co-workers. Fired. Chief of police. Fired. Any dispatcher or other law enforcement who ever took a call or read a report. Fired. Friends and family who didnt do enough to end the abuse after so long. Fired. Get the point? One man has so much responsibility in making sure her abuse continued, but no one else should be scrutinized. If it was so easy to end, none of the people in her life could end it?

When you say i practice victim shaming, you are way out of line. You dont actually read a single thing i write which is YOUR right. But I have continually stated i support her rights to get help. I just won't accept that the abuse continued solely because of UM. If that many law enforcement were involved, her actual boss, the OSU administration, support groups, family, friends, co-workers.....if she reached out as much as you/she says, then UM probably can feed a village with a single fish and walk on water. Possibly raise the dead. It doesnt add up. My wife is a mental health professional, she is a mandatory reporter. If she was seeing a counselor, that person has a legal responsibility to report. She had options. Leave. Run away. Live with family. Call state police. Call a legislator. Call NOW. There are so many people that would get involved to help especially in a high profile setting such as this. She had reasons to stay. Im sure she still loves Zach. I understand that. But dont blame UM .

The premise for your argument and the point of mine arent dissimilar. You say he shouldnt be criminally responsible. I agree . You say that he has some responsibility in this. I agree. You and i disagree on the role of the victim. Victims enable abuse as well. They are still victims. Its still wrong. They dont deserve to be abused. Hitting a man, woman or child is wrong. But a victim is the only and most important person that can end abuse. They need help, she sought help. She didnt get adequate help. I agree. But why blame UM when there are so many people who failed her? If i was her friend, i would have made it a s#@t storm a long long long long time ago.

Hopefully you read this. Hopefully you can act like a mature adult and accept another person's opinion. Stop name calling. Stop verbally abusing others. You come across as a major hypocrite is your aggressive verbal attacks. You can continue to lash out. Perhaps all of us will be arrested someday for reading your posts and not getting help for that person in your life. But perhaps they are Cyclone fans and we'll get over it.

I've completed my journey on this post. Make your parting shot and move on.

Your making the argument into some grand political stance about constitutional freedoms. This really has nothing to do with the situation that we are discussing. Urban Meyer is in no legal trouble.

We are talking about employment. A person has the right to be a "jerk" but if his employer does not like that then they have every right to say bye bye. OSU simply chose to retain the "jerk". There is nothing we or anybody can do about that except complain, judge and shake our heads.

This is exactly right. tOSU has a morals clause in his contract and decided that the clause was violated. They decided the appropriate punishment is a 3 game suspension and he should lose some pay. This is absolutely a situation that will be brought up by many other programs in recruiting and rightfully so. Meyer is responsible for his staff 's performance and behavior. My understanding is that his wife's employment may be in jeopardy, also so we will see how that plays out.

For which of these moral issues should YOU be fired for or shunned?

1. Knowing a friend drinks and drives but not reporting to authorities.

2. Knowing someone cheats on taxes but not calling the IRS.

3. Seeing a co-worker waste time at work but not reporting it.

4. Knowing that someone cheats on their spouse or significant other but not reporting them to their significant other.

Where are you drawing the line on our moral responsibilities as human beings? He who hath no sin.......

Lol only # 1, even comes close to approaching a morality issue, and it's pretty gray at that.
