Tyler Goodson Had Himself A Night

He couldn't found a better landing spot on offense. His ability to catch the ball will keep in in Green Bay for a long time.

Kid looks great when he has blocking. Not surprised as he is a gifted runner. Wish he had stuck around for one more year.

Yes, it makes a big difference to have blocking and not have to be worried he was going to be met 3 yards into the backfield. Wish he had put his head down more in his last season at Iowa instead of running backwards into the DT. It's good to see him back to playing with the passion and fearlessness he had as a sophomore.

And he tops off as good a preseason as he could have hoped for by taking one to the house vs the Chiefs. Also had five catches. Talk about making the most of an opportunity.

Kid is legit. How many RBs were drafted and won't make rosters? I'm still pissed he wasn't drafted. obviously he can play. Hopefully dude stays healthy for a long time and can get that 2nd contract and cash in. I'm sure UNFAs don't make much

I think the Pack keeps TG. But, every time they talk to the head coach about him, he raises the issue of special teams contributions. Where is TG on that?

I know last night he took a KO out of the end-zone when he should have just downed it. It was a case where he touched the ball in the field of play and it squibed in the end-zone when he got it and thought he had to run it out. I think the announcers mentioned that he may have gotten college and NFL rules confused on the play.

I think he looks too versatile on offense to not have him. He's showing he's a receiving threat. The other concern with him and what they are looking for is blocking for protection. It's going to come down to those two things.

They probably want him to cover kicks/punts and block on them I suppose. With 53 man rosters they need all 2nd/3rd teamers to be able to do that sort of stuff I suppose. Otherwise starters have to they like to minimize that the best they can.

If we had him this year, he might be playing exclusively (and effectively, I bet) at WR.

However, those 31 receptions he had last year...would double this year. The first 3 or 4 games, he would be doing a lot of slot work. That would mean Laporta isn't wide nearly as much.

I don't think it's the same scenario though. CP87 stated they could use him "exclusively" in the WR position. That is a whole other dog to learn and I don't think KF and BF would be interested in teaching a player an entirely different position for one year. They just wouldn't have the time.

Goodson got many of those receptions on screens or out of the RB position. The WR position is completely different.

My point is that it is just not that easy, ESPECIALLY, making that transition is short time for one year.

Sounds like he got cut... Pretty wild he got the most touches of all the GB RBs and looked good. Are they not keeping 3 rbs? That'd be pretty ballsy

Well, they are keeping 3 rostered and and they already had the two pegged. He was battling for the third spot. I think they made a mistake. If he was indeed cut, he'll have a chance to land somewhere with the showing he had. I don't know what more they wanted. I think he showed pretty well.

He will now go to the waiver wire. If he doesn't get claimed by another team, he'll most likely return to the Packers.
