Tucker arrested again.

winning big ten games is going to be even harder now.

*sigh*

going to be a long road back to recovery for the hawkeye basketball program. ill remain loyal, but might die of heartbreak before the recovery arrives.

Coach Ferentz's son was arrested twice for Public Intox...

Just thought I'd throw that one out there.
I hear you spank. I get where your coming from but Tucker hasn't learned one thing from his past mistakes. Kids deserve chances but when it reaches three strikes then it is about time to cut him loose. It seems Tucker is taking for granted a free education, playing Big 10 basketball and the faith that a lot of people have put into him.......namely his family, coaches and teammates. I feel bad for the kid but in no way do I feel sorry for him.

Did they find KF's son in an alley passed out? And then did KF's son become inelgible? And did we see KF's son play this year?

No, I understand, for the good of the BB team because Tucker is a starter Lick should not punish Tucker very much. In 1 1/2 years, Tucker has 2 public intoxs plus has been inelgible for one semester. Very reliable young man indeed. Plus the program is more important keeping him around isn't it?

If that is the case, then at a minimum Tucker should be gone for the season like Bohall was, should he not. Then Tucker can join the team for his junior year. Course Tucker will transfer before then won't he so we can't have that, so let's only suspend him for the S.C. State game.

The kid needs to go...

Yes, Brian played this year.
Brian graduated a year or two ago. James is the son on the team. I believe one of his charges was for public intox and one was for possession as a minor. Both before he ever played a minute, much less being a starter.

If Tucker is not suspended for at least the remainder of the season, I will lose the little bit of respect I have left for Lick.

To be consistent with the football program he should be playing in a few games. He's only had two incidents right? Same as Ferentz? I think we give them three arrests at Iowa.

Everything you said in that post could easily be applied to James Ferentz.

Not quite Spanky. James was given a ticket for possession and was arrested ONCE for public intox. Doesn't sound quite as bad a STARTER on the basketball team who has been arrested twice and been ruled academically ineligible.

I could care less if he stays or goes. My gut's telling me he'll be given the option to come back after he serves a lengthy suspension, possibly the rest of the year. But will choose to leave instead. Easy to do when you play on a losing team.

I gotcha. Still, Ferentz has had two run-ins with the law in regards to alcohol... and he's the coach's son. I just thought it was worth mentioning, as sort of precedence thing.

I understand and here what your saying. But if his last name wasn't Ferentz nobody would care about one arrest. I had a PAULA when I was 18, and I would wager there's a good 10 kids or more on that team that have also.

James Ferentz' 1st offense was for possession but it wasnt at a bar - it was in a vehicle i believe. He also wasnt charged with anything else his 1st offense so i dont even think he was drunk at the time. What i heard is he and some friends had a case of beer in a car driving to somebody's house. How many times have each of us done that before we were 21? a million?

Tucker almost died a year ago passed out in an alley behind the Union and was lucky the cops found him when they did. Im not saying James is in the right but i think the punishment has fit the crime for him. I dont think there is a valid comparison between the two

What was James' 2nd offense? Not trying to be trite, just wondering. I thought I recall the group of guys were yelling at cops or something? Trying to get into a fight? I don't remember.

And you are probably right, not likely a good comparison, I am just looking for some sort of precedence on how the U of I handles it. I do know that 3 alcohol related incidents and you are gone.

Tucker should be out for a while....really letting his team mates down and coaches.........he will be lucky if he even plays again for the hawks.......

Does anyone else think that if Tucker was going to be kicked off the team, it would have happened by now?

I know that based on Barta's statement that none of us will really know anything until after the game tomorrow, but part of me can't help but think that a decision has all ready been made, and that if Tucker was going to get the boot it would have happened by now.
