Tracking 2015 Class Offers

All signs point to Iowa, and and even big bonus would be if he doesn't even bother taking any other visits.

This would be a nice get. If we can get him and Markel Smith on campus next year that will dramatically increase our RB talent. Finally get a couple RBs on campus that had solid BCS level offers. We have to continue to upgrade our athleticism level at that position.

USC got a commitment from their top running back prospect. II wonder where this leaves Aca' Cedric Ware, whom already said he was still considering Iowa before this?

Some good news for this program......we need it:

Churlish, not a damn thing...looks like a great prospect though....bet he's quick....considering that Oregon is in the mix and most are predicting him to go there, that woild be a tremendous steal (or better yet, a tremendous surprise) if he is a Hawkeye....I see November 22nd he will be here....is that Wisconsin? I think it might be....

Ok, so what are we looking at to finish out the class?

By my count we have 3 QBs (depending on what you want to call Cook), 5 OL, 3 WR, 1 RB (Smith also potentially coming but doesn't count, right?), 1 TE, 2 LB, and 2 DE.

So we are obviously still hot after Raequan Williams at DT. Are there any CBs or safeties? I can't imagine we would go a whole class without taking a couple. And we're still looking at Tevis Bartlett for LB.

Is that it?

Saw on the other site that Iowa picked up a commitment from a 2015 WR from Texas, Jermanic Smith.

I think Iowa will take 3-4 more players (or 2-4, depending on how you want to count Markel Smith). I think they will go after safety hard, with Jonathan Crawford seeming to be the top guy there, and they'll take the best available other than that. It's tough to tell how the class will play out until we know who (if anyone) will transfer out.

I think there is a very good chance that Jacob Newborg will play defense. As good as he looks at OL, he appears to have tremendous quickness on defense. He sometimes gets so deep into the backfield, he overruns the play. Probably a good problem to have as far as the Iowa coaches are concerned.

It's been hard to get a DB commit this year. Balous would have been a decent get.
It would be great to get Marquise Doherty, everyone thought he would choose Nebraska but they didn't even crack his Top 5. However, the news doesn't seem to be trending Iowa's way here.

Crawford looks like the most likely DB commit at this point. However, Iowa is in a battle with Louisville and others for him.

Also, it wouldn't surprise me if Williams and Saint-Amour choose the same school, they have taken a couple visits together (including Iowa).

I have a suspicion that there's something going on behind the scenes that the schools are aware of but Doherty isn't making reporters aware of. Maybe it's as simple as him having a strong lean toward signing with MLB after the June draft, but it seems very odd to me that as late as August he had Nebraska and Iowa as his top two and BOTH schools stopped recruiting him.

Yeah, I really don't think that's a good thing. We currently have a front 7 full of guys who live in the backfield but can't wrap up to save their lives. I'm not sure on what planet this is considered a positive attribute.

As opposed to not being able to get off of a block? Its a good thing
