This season ticket holder is probably gone

I disagree completely, but I guess I didn't know Nile Kinnick and his innermost thoughts and feelings as well as you obviously did.
This response was intended for tm3308.

It's hardly necessary for me to have known Kinnick personally to have known he understood there were far more important things than football and that he was a man of integrity. If you're so unfamiliar with his history that you can't infer that much, then you should either read up or shut up.

And in any case, you seem to believe you know he's rolling in his grave. But since I disagree with you, I'm the fool who's trying to convey the opinions of someone he's never met.

Slow your roll, friend. No reason to get so excited on a chat board.

Believe me, I'm nowhere close to excited. It's actually pretty calming to know that you don't have the first clue on what you're talking about.

You're right, I don't know what Nile Kinnick would think and feel about a seven game losing streak and a downward program trajectory.
But neither do you, which was the point I made...which seems to have arced right over your head and dropped in to short center for a base hit.
Have a nice evening, friend. Go Hawks.

Right...after I disagreed with you and suggested that Kinnick wouldn't be going ape **** over losing some football games because he knew there were more important things than a game.

Your point didn't arc over my head. It's just not a good point. Unless, of course, everything I read about MLK Jr. or Abraham Lincoln is crap and they really give two deuces about whether people were treated equally. You know, since I didn't know either of them, either.

Thanks for the enlightenment, friend.

Kid, if you are going to try to be a sports journalist in Iowa never say anything about Nile Kinnick rolling in a grave. Ever. In case you didn't know why, his body was lost at sea and never recovered.

Well, saying "watery grave" seemed a lot tackier to say. But I wouldn't use the "rolling in the grave" cliche in my stories anyway. That's the kind of thing editors will smack you for.

You claim to know exactly how he thinks and what he wants. Thought maybe he had faked his death, moved to South America, and become one of this board's leading kool aid drinkers.

So you're saying I never claimed to be Nile Kinnick? Glad we got that straight.

And here I thought this board had long since peaked in stupidity.
