This season ticket holder is probably gone

i took it to mean ever. not just this season. but for fun...

missouri state
iowa state
western michigan
minnesota
michigan state
purdue

This Iowa team is not going to beat ISU, Minnesota, or MSU. Try to snap out of your delusional state, before it's too late!

If you didn't think Iowa had a good chance of losing to NIU ... then you weren't thinking very hard ... please give up your tickets, piker

I think we are going 2-10 or 3-9 this year, and I was able to pick up 2 extra seasons tickets this year thanks to folks like you

that's not what he said. he said "i have no confidence that KF can get to a bowl game again". not a big bowl, he said any bowl. i think even you agree that that is a ridiculous statement

I'd say that's correct. As everybody has stated lately, the 2014 schedule will be very favorable. Gotta get through this season first, but I could see the hawks winning 7 games in 2014. That should be enough wins to get to a bowl. It also wouldn't surprise if the 2014 is similar to the 2010 season where expectations are not met, meaning they could go below 500 in 2014.

I don't think it absurd to think that could happen. Iowa did not look terrible on Sat. Per usual, they just stopped playing to win. Seems like an easy fix to me. FYI, ISU did look terrible on Saturday in losing to an FCS school. I realize they will play like Alabama against Iowa, but their lines simply did not appear to be BCS quality. D line nothing short of abysmal. Does not bode well against a pretty physical Iowa team. Minny and MSU looked okay.

You could have stopped right there. :(

I love the argument that people claim that buying season tickets, parking passes, merchandise, etc... entitles them to W's in the win column. As Jon Miller has been saying for years, you're purchasing entertainment NOTHING MORE. If you're not entertained stop spending the money. It's your choice to do what you want with your money. It's that easy, don't just cry about it online like some spoiled brat not getting his way.

I'm not happy Iowa doesn't win more games either but I don't pretend to be entitled to it.

It does. Compare ticket prices at ISU, Illinois or Northwestern to ticket prices at Iowa or Wisconsin. If you're gonna jam people for north of $100 a game for decent seats, you better put out a decent product. It kind of sucks because if a movie is good, people find out about it and can shell out the $10. But with Iowa football, you have no idea if it is going to be good or not until the season starts but you have to buy your tickets by July. I don't particularly like shelling out cash to watch crappy movies and I don't much care to watch crappy football, either.

If you don't like shelling out cash, then don't. It's a choice, this isn't a communist country that forces you to do things again your will. I agree you don't know how the season is going to play out, but again, it's entertainment, not a guarantee a Iowa will win to your expectations. Especially when Iowa hasn't been decend in the past 3-4 years.

In business you better put out a good product to survive, I agree. However this product doesn't seem to be pushing too many people away, now does it? People may not be happy but there still buying merchandise, ordering tickets and going to games.

In your analogy, you forgot to mention that fact that going to this crappy movie has had prequels and this is a sequel. Iowa played last year and the year before, you (anyone who purchased season tickets) had an idea of how bad it could be. If the first movie that you saw was bad, horrible or actually ****** you off, why go to the second one? So being stupid, they come out with a sequel and again you went hoping the sequel would be better but it wasn't. Then a third movie comes out, you again go see it and it was even worse than the first two! The forth movie comes out and you tell all your friends you want to go aren't sure how it is going to play out. Then these same people come online and complain about the product they have seen multiple times and continue to pay to see. DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AT ALL!!!!!!!

So in summary, your analogy sucks.

Umm, sure, pal. You ever heard of Star Wars? The prequels came out after the sequels, brah. And they made me mad. Just like this ball club. But I still had to wait in line to see them, just like this ball club, because my parents taught me that way and all my friends do it. And yes, if my friends jumped off a bridge, I would too.

Welcome to the minority on this board. Once you realize that most hawk fans still think kf can get them to a big bowl game again, it all makes sense and you can stop beating your head against the wall for an answer as to why he feels no heat. It took me while to get to this point.
I certainly believe that. I think if we can just stay the course until 2019 or so, when the schedule finally lightens up, GD gets a few classes worth of players through the system so everyone is finally on the same page, and Phil finally gets the players that he needs on the Dline and in the secondary to make this work, I can definitely seen a run towards the Franklin American Mortgage Music Bowl on the horizon. I think we'll have a solid shot at beating Missouri again, too.

It's not ridiculous. Tell me where you see six FBS wins on here:08/31/13 vs. Northern Illinois09/07/13 vs. Missouri State09/14/13 at Iowa State09/21/13 vs. Western Michigan09/28/13 at Minnesota10/05/13 vs. Michigan State10/19/13 at Ohio State10/26/13 vs. Northwestern11/02/13 vs. Wisconsin11/09/13 at Purdue11/23/13 vs. Michigan11/29/13 at Nebraska
Well, to be fair, there are several wins on that list. Only most of them are for the other team.

Anything Jon Miller says is usually wrong.

I waited a day to write this so as to avoid it being too in the moment, but I think Iowa football may have lost me and my four seats after that loss. It was my tipping point I think. While I have been upset at times over the past few seasons, apathy has set in now. I'm tired and do not wish to invest any more emotional energy in this program. I've sat through the Wisconsin fake punt game, the close calls against highly inferior directional schools, the Central Michigan fiasco, the Penn State embarrassment, and now our 2 game home losing streak to the MAC. I don't know if our program has hit bottom, but I certainly have.

i really haven't enjoyed an Iowa football game (or at least the hours following it) since the 2009 season, and that is sad. Given the resources and the success of that season, the only explanation for the highly inferior product is gross mis-management, possibly due to resting on his laurels. We should not be a coin flip with MAC schools....ever! While I saw some good things yesterday, the loss indicates we are still soooooo far away from where our bottom should be. If Iowa football was a stock, we just hit a new low yesterday, and maybe it is time I take emotion out of it and dump it so I can invest in a company with competent management. So season basketball tickets it is, and Ferentz can go scratch.
As you can already see by the many responses, you won't be missed. Hope the door doesn't hit you on the way out!

Yeah, well don't come ******** when the super-sequels come out (there's no way Lucas goes to the grave without making that a reality).

LOL, JJ Abrams did his best to ruin Star Trek in the last go round. I'm sure his take on Stat Wars will just be tremendous.
