Summer Pizza Thread

Pineapple on pizza tastes completely different it normally does. BTW, I can't stand sauerkraut, but it too tastes completely different on pizza.

If I order pineapple and kraut pizza, I don't have to share with anyone.:D

Got into higher end pizza making about 9 months ago just for fun. Can make serious restaurant quality pizzas now. I made a chicken bacon ranch my wife raved about for days. And I order the pepperoni online as well as some other ingredients. The stuff they sell in HyVee don't cut it. Takes about 72 hours or so to get the best dough. Sits in the frig slowly fermenting. A lot depends on the flour used also. I made a Chicago style pan with home made sauce that was killer. used some fresh made garlic oil on it at the end on top. I invested in the deep dish pans and high end pizza stones (have to use two at a time with your oven on highest setting). I got an attachment for my GMG pellet grill but haven't hooked that up yet to do some in that but should be excellent. Helps not heating up the kitchen in summer. I am with some others though, I haven't had many "bad" pizzas in my life, even still eat a Tombstone or Jacks now and then. But for what I make I use high end ingredients and all fresh stuff and the lengthy dough making process. No way a restaurant can really do that and charge that high of a price. I think my next hobby to pair with it will be some beer brewing.

Did somebody say pizza?

an interesting, related thread would be "which things are you a snob about?", and "which things that others are snobbish about do you personally think are silly?"

Pineapple all day. BBQ pizza ftw too. In fact, I typically eat it so quickly that I can't distinguish flavors.
BBQ pizza is a winner.

Every year I get older find myself needing stuff hotter and hotter (spice-wise) and I don't understand it. Jalapenos and sriracha don't cut it for me anymore. Which sucks because I like the flavor of canned jalapenos over raw, but they aren't hot enough. Anyone else experiencing this as they age?

My buddy's wife makes sauerkraut every year at Thanksgiving and I normally can't stand it, but I took some a couple years ago and it got mixed in with my stuffing...

Guess what? Now I eat two helpings of "stuffingkraut" every year and I can't get enough of it. Still hate it on brats/sandwiches/everything else.

Key to a pizza, IMO. Well, sauce as well. Both can be deal breakers if bad. I want a little sweetness to my sauce instead of a paste.
