Story: Coaches on Recruiting Trail, Watching TN RB

This staff is just clueless

You guys are completely missing the point. We have always continued to recruit kids who have committed elsewhere. Everyone in D1 does it and everyone understands that. If we flip a kid, we flip a kid. If Iowa has a kid's verbal commitment and he actually de-commits then so be it. If he holds us hostage with our commitment to him while he searches around for a better offer, that places our coaches in an unfair circumstance. We should be able to move on with our recruiting, which is what happens when a kid de-commits. Would you have been happy if Iowa would call Eno in January and withdraw their commitment to him because they decided to pick up a top 5 wide receiver instead?

Deano went on to post another 25 times so apparently he's decided not to obey you. Is that okay with you?

I'm used to it. My children grew up to become Buckeyes in spite of their father's wishes and my wife only listens to me occasionally......... so he fits right in. :)

I think it's stupid to pull an offer from any recruit of Eno's caliber. It makes no sense and don't throw the "trust" thing at me. We've pulled offer's from kids that were committed to us because we didn't think they were good enough to play here

I don't know if he was honest about it or not. Eno seems like a great kid, he might have taken visits without telling the staff but I doubt he denied visiting Missouri, then went to Arizona State got caught and then lied to them about it again. Seems like they're trying to feed Kakert anything they can do to damage control here. There's two sides to every story and like usual the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle

So if the truth lies in the middle and Iowa didn't pull the offer until AFTER the ASU visit it means that Iowa doesn't pull an offer because of a visit to another school (Missouri).

We've also given out scholarships in desperation at the last second to borderline athletes who show up with smiles on their face, and then when they can't compete we "politely" show them the door.

The coaches at Iowa aren't choirboys. They're like the rest of the coaches at their paygrade . . . well except for the winning.

We shouldn't have pulled the offer after any visit. It makes no sense. Keep defending Kirk and say he didn't trust Eno because that's what Kakert was told to relay to us but I doubt you cared if Jack Beneventi trusted Kirk. It goes both ways and with Eno you do whatever you can to salvage the relationship and get him on campus. Our staff appears to be lazy when it comes to recruiting

Yep, right now they have time to nab another good RB.....if they waited they would be stuck with another E. Graham on signing day.

Like that's just your opinion man.

If the staff was lazy they would stick with Eno, and let him do whatever.....that way they don't have to now put in a ton of work starting relationship with several other RB order to sign them. Do you even think about the stuff you post before you post it, because the makes ZERO sense.

Take a shot at a game changer and if you miss you end up with a fallback on signing day or just give up and see whoever you can get in November. Seems pretty obvious to me

They were lazy because they didn't even try to salvage the relationship. Sometimes you have to re-recruit a player but obviously KF's ego is too big for that

If you visit elsewhere, you run the risk of being replaced.

Shoot for the stars and you may hit the moon. Ferentz will just climb a tree instead.

How do you know how much time the staff took to recruit Eno? Oh, I get it, TK is spoon feeding you the "inside info".

It obviously wasn't enough to keep him when he seemed to be the biggest Hawkeye ambassador since the day he committed

Where did he get the info? We're the coaches quoted as saying Eno lied? Was Eno asked if he lied or misled the coaches? If so, did he acknowledge he lied?

Is this serious?
You would have to ask him where he got the info? Have you ever gotten info and passed it along without contributing it? Nevermind, I know you have.

Once again are you saying he was putting forth information that he was either making up, or lying about?
