** Official White Sox Regular Season Thread**

Pinning my hopes on the Angels kicking the crap outta the Tigers this weekend in California...altho,their luck that Pujols pulls up lame yesterday and will probably sit.

Chris Sale is ridiculous. But not as ridiculous as the South Side. Feel free to show up and support the team.

Premium pricing for a Yankee series in the middle of the week is also ridiculous....90 bucks for a box seat? C'mon...this is not the North Side.

Joe let his inner-Ditka out in that moment ''get your mouth shut!''...Yanks just lost 3 straight to the Sox,at the end of a 20 games in 20 days streak....Yanks went 11-9 in that stretch, but their lead is now cut to 3 over the Rays, and 5 over the O's...and still play the Rays 6 games and O's 7 games in their next 38...should be fun.....Yanks starting pitching is very thin beyond CC,Kuroda and Hughes(occasionally). Rays definitely have better pitching. Love pennant races.

Cabrera injured? Verlander not getting any run support. Watching this DET 9th inning with great interest.

Grrrr....Tigers tie game in bottom of the 8th on a wild pitch with two out....to the 9th tied 2-2....c'mon Jays, show some spine!

Wild nite on the South Side!! Sox rolling to the 9th up 7-2 behind Peavy and Adam Dunn(2 bombs), then a bullpen meltdown gives up 6 to the redhot M's....but Sox rally in the bottom of the 9th for 2 and the win....whew! When a team, like the M's,have won 8 in a row, they think they will never lose, and they go down very hard....

Meanwhile, Zack Greinke finally pitched like a Cy Young winner in Detroit and beat the Tigers 2-1.....nice.

Sox go back to 2.5 up...and are at a highwater mark for the season at 14 over .500...69-55. Keep it going,Sox!

Whoa what a crazy game about broke my remote in the top of the ninth. Would love the Sox to get to 3.5 ahead before they play detroit next weekend. GO SOX !!!!

They've been 24th in attendance all year, I'm not talking one series.

Their season ticket base took a huge hit after last seasons flame-out.
It is hard for them to draw enough of a walkup crowd to make up the difference. They need to make the playoffs this year, and keep the core together,to bump that season ticket base next year....reality on the South Side.

Wow,what a weekend of tight taut pennant race baseball at Soxpark. Hot M's come in having won 11 of 12,and do not go down easy. Sox pull out three one run victories, to push their record to a high water mark of 16 over .500 at 71-55,with a 6-0 homestand vs the Yanks and M's. Tigers stay hot by having a 5-1 week vs the Jays and Angels,so remain only 2.5 back. Thanks for nothing, Angels.

Sox came back from deficits in all 6 wins this past week. Resilency is starting to be a hallmark of this team....including the improbable comeback in the rain yesterday where in the bottom of the 7th,down 3-2,with 2 out, nobody on,vs a very tough Millwood, Jordan Danks works the first walk of the day, then the umps stop the game to spread drying compound on the basepaths,as Millwood cooled his heels on the mound...then Tyler Flowers gets up and on the 2nd pitch,he takes a hanging curveball 450+ft to straight center for a 2 run homer, giving the Sox the lead 4-3...after two more batter reach, M's manager goes to the pen,and then the umps call in the tarp, and after a 2 hour rain delay, umps call the game...Sox Win! Baseball magic might be pushing it,but it is getting close on the South Side.

...Gavin Floyd getting an MRI on his nagging elbow today.

This is the dark news of the day. The media loves to bash Gavin Floyd, but going into yesterdays game, from June 20-Aug 20,he had 10 starts, with 7 of them quality starts, with a 3.35 ERA over that stretch. Sox won 8 of those 10 starts. He is not having a great year overall, but as a 5th starter, his 9-9 4.45 ERA record is respectable. Sox need a righty to balance out the rotation. He is a Tiger-killer,with a great record vs Detroit in his career. He was scheduled to start friday vs the Tigers in Detroit, but not likely now....not good.

Tough loss to those dreaded O's,who have the Sox number(4 of 5 this year so far)..
Brutal way to lose a game(up one, one out walk, and then a bomb in the bottom of the 8th,5 outs from a win). Worse yet the two homers given up were to two guys who had a combined total of 1 homer for the season coming into the game...damn you Lew Ford!!

Sox just got a good trade in Avasil Garcia. He played a lot in the playoffs and world series last year. He is def ready for the show but Detroit is stacked in the outfield right now. I was really suprised they let him go as they always talked about how he was the best young player in the system and he was Cabrera Jr. They would also say how he was never going to be traded.
