No fans allowed at NCAA Tournament Sites

Cancel the whole event if a fucking common cold/flu virus is that bad!!! Don't just worry about my immune system, let's worry about the TV crews too! And the refs, players, cheerleaders, family members. Oh, but then the media and tv networks would lose money? Ok let's just screw over the fan... And keep spreading the fear.

Notice the media never interviews any survivors??? One guy rated it a TWO. said if it wasn't for the 2 week quarantine he MAYBE would have missed ONE day of work. I've had hangovers last longer! Don't believe the hype!!!
STOP!
Making sense is symptomatic of having the virus. It's the crazy and panicking people that are healthy!

STOP!
universities and basketball arenas are obviously the top spaces where this disease is spread -- not airports or malls!

STOP!
this is just stupidity coming to bite the NCAA in the ass. If they wouldn't have scheduled these games in old folks homes and cruise ships, then all would be okay.

When the smog is so thick it looks like fog, when 1st world companies set up shop and trash the water and environments of 3rd world countries you don't suppose that toxic overload will produce flu like symptoms in the locals?

Of course it does but then they wouldn't be able to unleash a new vaccine technology that has been UNTESTED. Follow the money and your overlords who want to control every aspect of your life.
Ree4 .... hello .... Ree4

Got any leftover tinfoil?

How many have died in the US? And of those, how many had pre-existing conditions?

If you're scared stay home! But don't tell me I have to. That's my issue.
30+
most of them. especially if you consider that a pre-existing condition is that a lot of 80+ people die.
Then it's all of them.

Oh...last but if rant on the ridiculousness of this whole "health crisis" ( Hold on, we just lost the 22,346th from the common flu. No biggie..That's still below the annual average but, Heaven forbid, let's get back to the few dozen deaths and not deny the media their hysterical news cycle, for fux sake:rolleyes:)

Anyway.... A little, ummm, antithetical that ALLLL these people are attending all these conference tourneys across the entire nation!?
Guess they're either completely immune (i.e - normal healthy adults that should attend a game) the sacrificial lab rats, or the "pandemic" doesnt start till next Thursday at select locations.

It'll be a different pandemic a year or two from now, and all the dumb fucks will fall for it again. Humans have some sort of collective learning disability. It's fucking weird.

Oh, brother!
You better call your doc, or your shrink - sounds like you have a case of overblown hystrionics.

Unless, of course, you're north of 65, with an existing respiratory ailment, chronic organ disease or some other compromise to your immune system. In that case ... STAY THE F HOME!!

The rest of us that are healthy / feel good enough to attend a basketball game will be just fine.
Are you and your “likers” that dumb? The issue is that you nice healthy young people can carry the virus and pass it around like candy at a parade. Jesus. Do you ever think beyond your own comfort?

"Legit" sources. Please tell me who is legit? Not the guy who recovered and said it was a 2 apparently.

If you cannot identify legit sources, and instead rely on comments from one individual, you are next to dumb. Start with the World Health Organizations designation that this is a pandemic. It’s the first one they have labeled as such in 11 years.

So, we should trust the agency that originally said nothing to worry about that's now saying it's a pandemic? WHO doesn't have a fucking clue what they're doing.

The high death rate you hear is based on #s from China. They always have a higher death rate than in the U.S. A lot of China is like a 3rd world. This is pure hysteria.
I’m not an alarmist by any stretch, and I’m actually quite a hardcore skeptic.

However, this article is non political and does a good job of using statistics. I really do think this is more serious than what we think.

Basically there is a group of countries where the growth is now exponential, and you can do the math to see that it doesn’t take many weeks to hit 6 or 7 figures of infected people. It also describes how the lockdown quashed it I. China and how they were prepared because of SARS in the past.

Not trying to start any shit with ya whatsoever, but I do think that due to our huge physical land size, the hundreds of large sports/concert gatherings occurring here every day, and the low detection rates it could be a bad, baaaad problem real quick.

Let’s say just ten unknowing people went to the entire NCAA tournament and each infected 10 people who traveled there from all corners of the US. And then say 10 of those hundred people had jobs in something like public transportation or daycare, or a flight attendant, or hotel...

Honestly don’t mean to belittle the idea of it being controllable or seem like a dick, but I think this is a serious deal. And that’s saying something for me to get concerned about it :)

Tell me what you think 2 months from now.

I hear ya, but if the lockdowns happen, how would you tell me that it wasn’t because big precautions like this took place.

I know it’s a hot button issue for you, but if you take the time to look at that article I think it’ll maybe make you think about it.

Whatever you do don’t get mad at me, even if I get COVID-19 I’ll still post in game threads with ya. This is one time I’m trying not to raise hackles. Not worth it.

For the vast majority of people, the symptoms will be no worse than the symptoms of a common cold. If someone could track the stats of how the common cold gets spread, we'd wonder how the human race still exists.

I agree. The answer like in all things in life lies in the middle of the extremes.

I don’t think we’re going to get wiped out by any stretch. But I do think that because the mortality rate is higher than a standard flu (even if it’s not by a whole lot), that if it does go widespread that it will tax our healthcare system to the max and affect the economy in very negative ways that go beyond our 401k’s and some might be very long lasting. That’s good for none of us.

No chance in hell some sort of total lockdown happens. People are still going to congregate, visit the mall, hit the bars, gym, etc. What's really going to happen is several months after the virus has become a non-issue, a vaccine will be introduced and they'll claim that's what saved us all.

I think you're just worried because you and Huckfinn fit into the demographic dying from this. :D

@HuckFinn has me blocked, can someone tell him in this thread that I agree with him?

This is a serious thing.

Very serious
