The B1G is easily the 5th best BCS conference. He'll, even the Big East has three undefeated teams.
The prototypical, grinding Big Ten style is no longer effective in today's college football landscape. This is evidenced by Weisman's 200+ yd game against CMU which still ended in a loss. Teams must have a versatile and athletic QB, 1-2 other really solid skill positions on offense who pose big play threat, and a fast (not necessarily brutish) D.
I think the B1G is pretty even this year. Some odd losses but I don't think Florida or Georgia are that great this year. They will lose yet/some more yet. Alabama and LSU are pretty tough (surprised LSU went down). Iowa should be undefeated yet (ISU is turning out decent and had a few bad bounces against CMU) and we'd have a different story. Football is a funny game.
The true good teams this year in my book are Alabama, West Virginia, and Oregon. That's spread out pretty well.
Overall though, yes, the B1G is down.
The following SEC teams would kill everyone but O$U in BoneG.
Alabama and they would kill O$U too. I said before they would beat a Big 10 All Star team this year.
Florida
LSU
South Carolina would probably kill O$U too.
Georgia
You think Georgia would kill every team? They lost to MSU just last year.... Jesus I swear some of you guys are depressed to the point of suicidal with how bad ESPN has brainwashed you into hating the B1G. Michigan was over ranked because the had a very young D at the beginning of season but at the end of the year will be pretty good. I mean holy **** I swear some of you just look at what ESPN says and take it to heart. Actually look at the games and what the teams do on the field as far as fundamentals and talent and you wouldn't have such an anti-B1G attitude. The coaching in this league is actually very, very good but there are 6 staffs in their first or second year and 2 of the conferences name brands are under probation. Of course the season wasn't gonna start out great, but wait until the bowl games and then make some judgments.
Once Michigan gets rid of Denard and OSU gets off their sanctions MICHIGAN AND OSU will be back. Lets not forget Urban was the one that started the Whole SEC craze with Florida.
