next yrs bball team...what i think it will look like

then you have seen nothing to back up your claim
as for DM i stated his father didn't develope a potent outside shot til his JR yr
so please refrain from making comparisons on players until they play
by people who have actually seen him play on multiple occasions he is a top notch on ball defender

i have seen gessell play and he isnt in craft's neighborhood right now. he is solid against hs pg that arent going to play college bball.

did you see him play in AAU ball
totally different league than HS
he put up better pt guard #'s than Paige did
in the asst's and stls
Paige is real good and Gesell is no slouch, as he got his Top 100 ranking off of his play in AAU ball against top notch competition, not hs accomplishments
although they are a good addative
Hinrich and Woolridge came out of Nebraska, both were excellent pg's

oh another thing Craft has better players around him that makes him look good
Sullinger can make a lot of fellow players look good

hinrich played at sioux city west. i actually played against him so the whole nebby thing is off there but good try you can swing and miss again if you want.

Gesell is from Nebby also is a 2 time Gatorade player of the year in Nebby so there is no swing and miss
you are a total fail in Geography
Gesell South Sioux City HS, South Sioux City. Nebraska

i am from orange city, ia. it is 40 min north of sioux city. i know where these places are. i am basing my assessment off of what i have seen and i have my opinion on the player. you can disagree but mine is visual assessment. if yours is too you can have your opinion too. but as another poster stated i was informing you you failed about hinrich. but you would rather focus on being wrong than reading like most people learn to do early in life.

i was discussing Gesell and i was under the impression he was stating i failed on Gesell being from Nebraska
But its good to know we have a OSU fan on here bashing Iowa recruits

Dude. Get it together. You're sh!t gets more absurd by the day. Just because he doesn't agree with you, doesn't mean hes an OSU fan. Craft is the real deal. To say Gesell is gonna be Craft when he first steps on campus is putting a lot of pressure on the kid.

i am far from an osu fan. i stated where i thought a player needed to develop from my assessment. my father started the voice of the hawkeyes and i grew up on black and gold and never waver. but i can assess players being that i am a coach and former player of basketball. i feel gessell will be very good. criticism is not black and white that when you do it you dislike something or are bashing it. i predicted last season that marble would be the center piece of this team when he was a junior but he needed to advance his shot. he has gotten there early but he still needs to advance his shot because defenders will start to sag and keep him from the basket. im sure fran has told him the same. hopefully he keeps tearing teams up off the dribble and slashing. it is an attacking brand we havent seen at this level in a while.

Do have a link to these stats? You don't have a clue what you are talking about.

See my previous post, it is just not worth it...let the ramblings, or whatever you want to call them in your own head go...clueless and will blame it on something or someone else.

I know you're right, i let him get to me with his endless drivel.

It is so easy to get tangled up in the web. I am sure I will get a broken sentence or three bashing me, but oh well.

At times is difficult for me not to comment most of the time because it is amazing some of the things that written.

I'm very puzzled by all this Gessel talk. I am excited for the current pg that has seemed to take over. IF Devyn can continue to score in double figures and his excellent TO ratio, why do we have to have a freshman start? Marble has seemed impossible to press, more comfortable taking the pull up jumper, much improved free throw percentage, improved leadership, has length and athleticism guarding small guards. I just think we have a potential all big ten point guard in the future.

1) Marble-While I agree he can play the 2 or three. I think he continues to play the 1 because Oglesby and White are so solid you can not keep them off the floor. This will only make Gessel's minutes easier for him to transition into a leadership role on the team without expecting the world from him as a freshman.
2) Oglesby-Better shooter than Matt. I think better perimeter defender also. Not going to be as good of a rebounder as Matt but we wont need that from the 2 spot next year.
3) White-kid will be solid, going to take some lumps come BIG play this year.
4) Basabe-still best player on team. Slow starter two years in a row. no biggie.
5) Woodbury-I agree with other posts Adam may struggle on the offensive end a little. However, he will have the best hands of our centers, he is the longest and will probably be our best shot blocker as soon as he hits IC. Adam runs the floor well and has more than held his own against the best talent in his class.

the reason i come back to gessell at the point and marble on the wing is that it gives us 2 pg types on the court and will allow us a better rotation which i believe is still the main place we are lacking this year. plus with how great marble is doing i think he would do better at the wing. also i love white as a 6 man. he brings the energy off the bench that i thought may could have brought off the bench if he didnt start. and white brings it to both sides of the ball off the bench where may doesnt. i just think it is what would be our best lineup. if gessell would struggle next yr i see marble shifting over again. but i think gessell will be frosh all b1g next yr so i think he starts from day 1. woodbury i believe earns the starting role by big ten conference play. next year we will be 3-4 deep at every position.

what is bugging me is i said what i thought deficiencies are for each player and my opinion on one player has made people mad when i have actually seen the kid. and ive seen enough to say he will start but he needs to get better at the one thing almost every hs pg needs to get better at in college. gessell will have a better year than horner frosh yr take that to the bank. but i am not a true hawkeye fan according to other posters. i cant wait to see them win a bunch and score a bunch next yr. i think gessell will allow marble to average 17 pts a game next year. maybe that is high but that is how good i think marble can be from the wing with a very good pg.

The fact that Marble CAN play PG takes a lot of pressure off of Gessell even if he's asked to start.
