I'm very puzzled by all this Gessel talk. I am excited for the current pg that has seemed to take over. IF Devyn can continue to score in double figures and his excellent TO ratio, why do we have to have a freshman start? Marble has seemed impossible to press, more comfortable taking the pull up jumper, much improved free throw percentage, improved leadership, has length and athleticism guarding small guards. I just think we have a potential all big ten point guard in the future.
1) Marble-While I agree he can play the 2 or three. I think he continues to play the 1 because Oglesby and White are so solid you can not keep them off the floor. This will only make Gessel's minutes easier for him to transition into a leadership role on the team without expecting the world from him as a freshman.
2) Oglesby-Better shooter than Matt. I think better perimeter defender also. Not going to be as good of a rebounder as Matt but we wont need that from the 2 spot next year.
3) White-kid will be solid, going to take some lumps come BIG play this year.
4) Basabe-still best player on team. Slow starter two years in a row. no biggie.
5) Woodbury-I agree with other posts Adam may struggle on the offensive end a little. However, he will have the best hands of our centers, he is the longest and will probably be our best shot blocker as soon as he hits IC. Adam runs the floor well and has more than held his own against the best talent in his class.
