Nebby just fired their AD

Riley can start planning on putting his house of the market I suspect.

Also I'm sure Scott Frost will be getting a call down the line.

Wow, I shouldn't be surprised but I still am. Riley probably won't be far behind, probably need a new AD first. Maybe Diaco as interim coach? I hope they start losing players over this stuff.

An opinion that makes a lot of sense.

Commentary:
Why would UCF coach Scott Frost want the Nebraska coaching job?

"Nebraska is simply not the program it once was when Osborne and Osborne’s legendary predecessor — Bob Devaney — were stalking the sidelines and steamrolling the competition with their I-formation and triple-option offenses. If the Nebraska job were such a great job then why are the last three coaches hired named Bill Callahan, Bo Pelini and Mike Riley? This sounds like a pool of candidates for NC State, not Nebraska.

The problem is college football has changed and so have college football recruits. Unlike Ohio State, Nebraska isn’t in the middle of a fertile recruiting area and the Huskers no longer have the national cache to lure five-star recruits from across the country. In the minds of many top prospects, Nebraska is simply a bitterly cold place in the middle of nowhere......

Frost’s best career move would be to stay at UCF, continue to implement his explosive offense and build the program into a consistently big winner. If he does that then he could leave UCF for a much better job than Nebraska."

Even Nebraska fans, as delusional as they are, realize that Frost won't come back. Apparently he's said as much and know that he can build UCF into a big winner because of the incredible amount of money being poured into the program by the University and especially boosters. He'll only jump for an elite job.

I'm not so sure. It's one thing to turn down a hypothetical situation and quite another to turn down a real offer. An Oregon like offense might work at Nebraska and give them a niche. It's 65% run. Whoever it is should get paid about twice as much as the market rate to put up with their BS.

The program is not where it needs to be and isn't anytime soon. Couple that with prodigious fan expectations with no patience. If I were Frost or any other coach, I'd run away from that situation as fast as I could.

First domino has fallen... How fast the others fall depends how the season goes.. My guess is they've already written off this year and Riley won't get fired till the new AD settles in after this season is done. But if they lose to Rutgers and Riley has his agent looking for a soft landing spot for him to jump to before getting canned who knows.. There's 2 or 3 ways this play out. None of them include Nebraska going to a bowl of any consequence. Maybe none at all...
