NCAA Tourney Thread

Purdue had a big lull but held off the Clowns. PU has Final Four potential I MO if they can play that inside out game consistently like they did in the first half.

CyFan is going nuts over there....eff the seniors, poor effort, if Monte would've made that free throw, that ball went off Swanigan, blah, blah, blah, damn Lucky bounce and rebound.....whatever ISU....t h ey really hope Kansas destroys them by 20...

MSU is going to be playing Purdue so not sure how Kansas is going to beat them????

"Purdue played out of their minds" (shot worse and more to's than ISU)
And
"Refs.refs.refs." (15 fouls to 16 fouls.)

ISU gets every break in the world and still loses :D

This is the second year in a row where I thought if they survived the opening week they were poised to make a deep run. Thank goodness they couldn't do it. But hey, they have those Big 12 tournament titles.

Usual cyfan crap. Purdue shot lights out. Refs raped the clowns. In the end clowns shot a higher %, clowns had 1 more foul. Free throws even. Clowns couldn't hang with Purdue until the refs started to ignore the fouls they commit when stripping the ball down low, clowns were mugging Swanigan the entire 2nd half. cyfans always rip on the Big 10 but they never beat the Big 10 teams. Clowns won't be able to claim they won their super bowl. Little brother always.

Some things....never change.

Purdue - ISU was a fun game to watch. The match up with Burton and Swanigan was awesome. Neither one could stop the other...and neither coach would give them help...most of the time anyway. Painter was awful though in the decisions down the stretch...when a team is making a run like that, you better have Edwards and Swanigan on the floor...they have a week to rest. Stupid.

That was as egregious as the blown call we had against Minnesota. These officials need to be held accountable. That was a 4-point swing and "could" have been the hinge that kept them from keeping it close "enough".

I just do NOT understand how this stuff continues to happen.
My guess -- Human beings are imperfect.

I love that they want to get after it on the defensive end, but man you better win and win at a high level because it is not always easy to watch. Purists probably love it, they get it, but 90% of us aren't purists so it ain't sexy all the time.
39 points.

Break out the peach baskets. Women's basketball is more interesting than Virginia.

What cracks me up is they're calling this the most successful era of cyclone basketball ever. They went to 2 sweet sixteens in 6 years and never won a regular season conference title.

3 tournament championships in 5 years. 2 sweet 16 appearances. And have been among the top of their conference. I'm no clown but I'm not an idiot either. Those are some
Impressive results

Well. That could still be true.

I mean, people are saying this was the most successful season for Northwestern.

I'm not saying it's not impressive, but the "most successful era in the history of their program" only includes 2 sweet sixteens?

For Iowa state, it might be. I don't know Iowa state basketball history but off the top of my head I can't think of an "era" more successful for them than this one. Possibly the Big 8 Days but I think college basketball is a whole different beast now
