NCAA Tourney Thread

I'm not really sure how this was the refs fault. They weren't calling ticky tack fouls, the players just kept playing a way physical game. If the players would have just adjusted and stoped playing so physical, the game would have gotten a flow.

Bad offense...but defense is at a level far and away better than what Iowa had to offer this season. That's gotta change.

Hmm...Let's see...How will I cheat to win my next one?

That was going to be my response to a degree.

The call on Collins was really bad though. I did think Collins was being ridiculous in not adjusting his play. He'd get called and go right back at it. It seemed the ref anticipated a foul on that play based on his body language and what he'd been doing.

We saw 2 of the best rebounding teams ever and when they go at each other there's going to be contact.

I was surprised at the flagrant on the Berry foul. Quick but hobbled guard sticks face in middle of big slow guys hands...

Kronowski's no travel call was bad.

The jump ball with the NC guy clearly out of bounds....

I have little issue with calling the fouls. I do have issues with the bad lack of non foul calls. The big guy traveling was like watching Paul Bunyon drag an ax. Not quick for sure. Could have been a call for contact though.

just take solice that UNC's national title will be vacated IF the NCAA ever gets their act together and hits UNC with probation. They've been dragging their feet on that case for a few years it seems

Maybe it's just me, but I take zero solace in that because vacated wins don't help Gonzaga or anyone else that loses to a dirty program.

Or schools who cheat on the recruiting path... Vacate all the wins you want, but those recruits still played for the school in question, which doesn't help the schools that they might otherwise have played for. It's kind of a joke.

If you ask me, if a coach cheats and then bails to another job (Cough, John Calipari, cough..) then the penalties should follow that coach to his new job, not stick with the school where those offense occurred even though that coach is no longer there. Then maybe schools also wouldn't hired known cheaters. Just my two bits.

Zach Collins fouled out, 3 of his 5 were very questionable...one was ridiculous

I agree.

If it's proven the coach cheats.

More often it's boosters and if they're successful after cheating then the school administrators are reticent to stop the cheating = stop the success.

One was ridiculous. If his move was indicative of about what was about to happen it was anticipation. Collins plays hard all the time. He never adjusted. He got called. Two of the most physical teams in BB played. Lot's of casualties.
