Name that Iowa Freshman Point Guard

Fair enough. Will be interesting to update the list as the season goes on.

I'm not sure Iowa's season looks a whole lot different right now if we had one of those guys instead of Bohannon.

I think it would for sure. Probably beat Nebraska and at least one other just talking better perimeter defense

Carr has a higher PER, has more upside and is a much better defender

Markell Johnson plays behind one of the best PG's in the country who is also a freshman, don't even know why you'd mention him considering he's in a completely different role and gets way less minutes than Bohannon.

Fisher has a higher PER, has more upside and is a much better defender

Goodin plays behind a multi year starter in Sumner, don't even know why you'd mention him considering he's in a completely different role and gets way less minutes than Bohannon.

Edwards has a higher PER, has more upside, is a much better defender and still scores more than Bohannon does in way less minutes

Payton Pritchard is so much better than Bohannon I couldn't even begin to list the reasons.

So please tell me what 4 star PG's Bohannon is actually better than? You just said he's right there with most 4 star PG's but you list only 5 of them that have similar offensive ratings and only 2 of them have a similar role to Bohannon. I think there are a lot more 4 star PG's than you think if that is considering "most"

Stats show Jordan is producing at a typical 4* PG. It is funny now you have moved into "upside" and "defense" when before you claimed the stats showed Jordan was horrible, when in fact they show Jordan is on par stats wise with many 4* PG.

The stats are what they are, and need to be looked at as a whole, instead of Cherry picking like you want to do.

No it doesn't.

His stats are comparable to 2 freshman 4 star PG's and they both have higher PER's than him. Spin, spin, spin....

I don't judge a player by PER, that was put in there for you. If you think a player is summed up with one stat, that is the ultimate spin. Especially one that relies on a made up defensive stat.

When you put it all together Jordan is right there as far as production this year. You know it and that is why you are completely and totally flailing away with your desperate arguement a.

No he's not though. He's probably the worst defender of anyone on that list and you didn't even list all the 4 star guards and they all have different situations. I'd much rather have Xavier Simpson who's stuck behind a 4 year starting PG than Bohannon and I'm sure you would too. We know Fran wanted him more.

Now you are just stating an opinion. You said the stats show that Jordan is struggling tremendously. Everyone else tried to tell you that Jordan is doing just fine and most Fr struggle. To prove the point I showed that 1/2 the 4* PG in the country have similar stats as Jordan does. Some have more or less PPG, none with more APG, most with lower TS% and eFG% and all but one with a lower Orate.

You showed 2 PG's in similar situations as Jordan and they both have higher PER. How is 2 half?

Why do they have to be in the same situation to compare stats? You have said that Jordan would be better off as a SG, so that means since he is playing out of position this is suppressing his stats. So if you are right, Jordan is out of position, you should be even happier than he can put up numbers equal to 4* PG while playing out of position like he is.

Because you can't say he's doing fine because he's putting up better stats than players that are behind multi year starters at their position

Sure I can. All the players I listed (besides Xavier, who I then took off the list) get 20+ MPG. Plenty good enough to compare stats especially TS% and eFG% and Orate.

There's no way Goodin plays over 20 MPG plus you left off other 4 star players, most notably Charlie Moore. Spin it any way you want but you're trolling and wrong

So only stats that "prove" your point are good, and stats that don't are bad? Who's trolling who here ghosto?

Comparing someone who is playing 30 mpg because we have no other options to someone who is playing way less minutes because they are behind a multi year smarter isn't a great comparison

Do you think Bohannon would be playing 30 mpg at Xavier and getting as many shots up as he does if he's playing behind Sumner who's a multi year starter and former 4 star PG? That doesn't prove Bohannon is just as good as Goodin who Louisville, Indiana, Florida and everyone else wanted

Your obsession with stars is unhealthy

I look at offers more than stars. That's why I like Garza so much even though 247 has him as a 3 star and just outside the top 150 in their composite rankings. Dean brought up stars in this one, not me

So offers and stars are more important than performance. Dieting was the best lineman at Iowa too right?
