I won't speak for others, but I thought he'd struggle because he's a frosh. Learning the game at the next level. Getting experience and comfortable with knowing the offense. Being a teenage kid that's going to school and living on his own for the first time ever. This season will give him a leg up on just about any PG Fran will recruit over the next 3 seasons.
This is spot on, Most Fr. come in and struggle. Here are the 4* PG, and what they are doing so far this year. I left a couple off the list that can't get more than 10-15 MPG,
Cassius Winston 7.2 PPG 5.9 APG 2.4 TO/G
Alterique Gilbert 10.3 PPG 2.0 APG 1.3 TO/G
Tony Carr 11.5 PPG 3.7 APG 2.5 TO/G
Payton Pritchard 7.8 PPG 3.8 APG 1.6 TO/G
Markell Johnson 4.1 PPG 2.3 APG 1 TO/G
Anthony Cowan 10.4 PPG 3.8 APG 2.4 TO/G
Xavier Simpson 1.5 PPG 1.3 APG .7 TO/G
Jaylen Fisher 9.6 PPG 4.4 APG 3.1 TO/G
Markus Howard 11.6 PPG 2.1 APG 1.6 TO/G
Quentin Goodin 3.3 PPG 2.0 APG 1.5 TO/G
Myles Powell 10.6 PPG .7 APG 1.3 TO/G
Jared Harper 13.7 PPG 3.1 APG 1.4 TO/G
Lamar Peters 9.8 PPG 2.8 APG 1.4 TO/G
Carsen Edwards 10.4 PPG 1.9 APG 1.9 TO/G
Yet we are supposed to say that Jordan is "really struggling" yet when you compare him to the top PG kids and see how they are doing, he is right in the mix at 8.8 PPG 4.8 APG 2.3 TO/G and 11.2 PER
Keep in mind these are 4* kids, and Jordan would be 10th on this list in scoring, and 2nd in assist. Like I said I left off I think 2 or 3 others who weren't getting minutes, so he would be above them as well.
