Name that Iowa Freshman Point Guard

So offers and stars are more important than performance. Dieting was the best lineman at Iowa too right?

Production is what matters most. That being said you can't say someone is just as good or better than someone who is in a completely different situation. We all know Bohannon is getting minutes because he's really the only PG on the roster. If he was at Xavier or somewhere else he might not be playing much at all

Fran more than likely quit pursuing the other 8 point guards you always bring up because he realized how good Bohannon actually is.

Another classic troll5656 cherry picked stat. 3pt% only gets you so far. There is a difference of a guy shooting 36%* which Jordan is, who has attempted over 90 3s, and a guy who's shooting 40% but only attempted 40. Do you think any opposing coach who scouts Iowa says "#3 he's an average shooter, he shoots 36%, I wouldn't worry about him out there?" You're clearly trolling, if not your lack of basketball knowledge is astounding.

Let's not forget the point-scoring outcome of 36% from the three point line is the same as the point scoring outcome of 54% inside the three point line. And we currently have three players shooting over 54%: Pemsl is at 66%, Ellingson is at 57% and Kriener is at 55%.

Bohannon is shooting 35.9% from 3 which is lower than our team average. I do think those numbers will improve though as he gets further along in his career, he just hasn't shot the ball great so far

Comparing someone who is playing 30 mpg because we have no other options to someone who is playing way less minutes because they are behind a multi year smarter isn't a great comparison

Who is averaging 30 MPG?

Pritchard is averaging more MPG than Jordan, Fisher is over 26 MPG, Carr is averaging 31 MPG, Edwards and Johnson both over 20 MPG.

Just stop, you are embarrassing yourself. The simple fact is Jordan is right in the mix with all these 4* PG in his cumulative stats. His Orate is greating than all of them besides Pritchard, and he averages more APG than ANY OTHER 4* PG outsides of Winston.

His .499 TS% and .460 eFG puts in right in the middle of the pack for 4* PG. That is pretty good.

I'm embarrassing myself but you purposely leave off Moore when talking PG's and then say Goodin is playing over 20 MPG. I'm glad you are now just relying on fake assits now though. Haha

What? ONLY PER MATTERS!!! PER PER PER you dummy, only the PER!!!!

What 4* PG does he have a better PER than? PER is not a made up stat and is widely used in the NBA

Comparing someone's PER who is playing spot minutes as a back up to a guy that's been thrown into a starting role out of necessity isn't a very intelligent thing to do. Do you think Bohannon is better than Goodin from Xavier or Simpson from Michigan?

You do realize college basketball isn't the NBA, right? PER is not used by anyone in college basketball, you are literally the only person I have ever run into who has even brought it up for the college game.

You have been lecturing us for a month about PER, and using it to say Jordan was horrible......so I'm not the one who has to define players by it. You painted yourself into a box, not me. You are the one who told us those guys suck because of the PER, the PER, it is all about the PER!!!!

OK what 4 star PG has a worse PER than Jordan?

I don't care about PER, it is a made up stat.

Listen Twins, you just look desperate and stupid at this point. Honestly I don't think you have any clue what other 4* PG did their Fr. year, and this all kind of shocks you. You got so used to laying down absolute statements about how a 12.5 PER was awful and proved what a HORRIBLE year Jordan was having. You wanted to quote only 2 pt FG% It is like you didn't even realize that the real metrics are TS% and eFG%. Now you are just kind of shocked to see that Jordan would be #2 in APG of all 4* PG, and actually have about the same made up stat (PER +/-1) as roughly half of the 4* PG out there. Now you are cry about playing time, and not exactly the same situation......funny, funny stuff really.

PER is a made up assists and some assists are fake. I've heard it all now. Would you rather have Simpson from Michigan or Goodin from Xavier instead of Bohannon? That's a pretty simple question. Go Cubs

Yes it is. Bohannon is currently shooting 35.9% from 3 and the team average is 36.7%. That means if Jordan made one more shot he would be above the team average. After all, the difference is just under 1% which translates to 1/100.

The mathematician in me wants to say it's actually 8/1000 better, but what player can shoot 1000 three point shots in a season? And yes, I've watched Grinnell play and they don't have a player who shot 300 three point shots in a season.

We win at Nebraska if he makes one more too

OK what 4 star PG has a worse PER than Jordan?

How's this. JBo has been starting for 11 games (7 non conference / 4 conference).

Here is what we know:

His conference PER is 15.2 which puts him ahead of many PGs in the B1G and other Freshman. (In conference play)

In his 7 non-conference games as a starter his stats were:
11.7 PPG, 5.1 APG, 2.4 TO, 37% FG, 42% 3P

I'm guessing his PER since becoming a starter is 13 or better.

Anyway I don't want to hear your dumb response so I'll leave you with this. If Jordan finishes the year with a PER in line or greater than his peer group (B1G & Freshman) will you shut up? Really it's a rhetorical question as we all know you won't.

You are not dealing in absolutes. How the F do you know? Did PER tell you?

Only a Sith deals in absolutes.....
