Music Thread

Yes, indeed. Mick Jones had his roots in that late 60's British prog rock scene that spawned Pink Floyd, Genesis, early Fleetwood Mac and many others. Most notable for pre Foreigner Jones were his days in Spooky Tooth.

Not a huge Nazereth fan and suspect their best moments were live. We did, however, have an old favorite watering hole, now extinct, where we wore out "Please Don't Judas Me" .on the jukebox. Good album closing track. Oh, oh, another thread entry brewing. Greatest album opening and closing tracks. My quarters' down with "Long Way To The Top by AC/DC for the former and Zeppelin's "When The Levee Breaks" for the latter.
I'm a little surprised. I've never see Judas on a jukebox, and it's probably about the last tune I would expect to see on one. You can barely hear the first 90 seconds or so. Interesting.

Edit: I'll add that my memory isn't even close to being good enough to remember opening and closing tracks, but I probably would vote for The Doors "The End" as the best closing track off the top of my head, though I love Levee, and posted it earlier on this thread.

Lol....i knew it. Thanks!

I want to say to all posters and contributors to this thread....this had been magnificent...all the good music I may have forgotten and certainly all the insight and historical facts have been fun to learn. Everybody's contributed great stuff.....Northside...you're particularly full of good data....keep on providing!

Was looking for an excess to toss a few old school soul numbers into the thread. NEIChawk put a few up and I ran with it a bit.

The core audience here seems to be late 60's & 70's rock, 70's MOR rock & pop, southern rock. A little new wave in the mix.

Need a bit of R&B, Soul, Classic Blues to round out the mix.

Not anywhere near enough roots music up here. It looked like it would go that direction a few times, but didn't stay on course.
