MSUM's Anthony Tucker shows a knack for the basket

I agree gatens is better. I am just saying he has a similar game to gatens. Korver is better than tucker and that is why he is in the nba. But their games are similar in that they are just pure shooters and not that great at other aspects.

Jo can defend really well and people that don't fully understand defense don't see it as well. He is our best denial defender. He also doesn't force his shot and really he is one of the best ball handlers and passers on the team.

Comparing the 2 games:
1) ballhandling - jo
2) passing - jo
3) 3pt shot - tucker
4) midrange shot - push (tucker can make them but can't create them as well)
5) at the hoop - jo
6) rebound - jo
7) defense - jo (this is the biggest difference)
8) bb iq - jo (this is very debatable but his knowledge and ability at more aspects makes me give him the edge).

I hope JO gets healthy (back issue recently), finds his consistency and plays like Gatens. It seems like JO is hesistant when he first steps out on the field when he is open. He needs to get into the flow of the game before he is really ready to knock down the 3's like we all know he can.

Korver doesn't have defense and he plays in the NBA, when he was with the Bulls he rarely did anything on the defensive end, if Tucker can simply hit threes and not get completely destroyed on defense then he can have the career that Korver has had.

Did you drink too much over the holidays?

Kyle Korver is 6'7
Kyle Korver shot 45% from the 3 point line in college, he shot 48% from the 3 point line his senior year on 269 attempts.

There is no way in hell Anthony Tucker could play in the NBA at 6'4 especially considering he is a terrible shooter compared to Korver.

I mean this is absolutely ridiculos.

Korver hardly needs any space at all though. Just because Tucker is a great shooter unguarded doesn't say he'll ever replicate Korvers ability to shoot contested or shoot adjusted shots.

JO defense will get better, Gatens was probably average defender at his soph year and really developed as time went on. In the end I think JO will surprass Gatens senior defense ability. What I'd like to see is him being able to make shots with unset feet coming off screens. But I dont know if that's in his reach exactly. Maybe Peter Jok can fulfill that.

I would argue most of these points.
But the one that sticks out at me is the "at the hoop" metric. How could you even start to give the nod to Josh? Oglesby has shot the ball 66 times this year - 9 have been from inside the arc. Nine.

He looked good on that one layup he got against ISU...

I would say this because I doubt tucker has shot 9 times inside the arc. Tucker also truggled getting to the hoop at iowa. Jo can get there and finish. Deciding not to do it doesn't mean you can't. Tucker couldn't jo can.

If you argue them and disagree with some. I would understand...but if anyone argues the defense they are ignorant. And I would be very adament on passing and ballhandling too.

Tucker played point in AAU and excelled there. His ball-handling is very good - same goes for passing.
I'm not going to advocate either for defense. Neither has impressed me at any level. Josh has more potential in this area, as Tucker doesn't play much D.

Tucker can slash. He did it at the prep level and at the AAU level. It's tough to base Tucker's game on his career at Iowa because of the "offense" he was in. Put Tucker in this offense and he wouldn't be sitting around the arc. His game would be closer to Marble's than Oglesby's. For example, vs. St Cloud St, Tucker put up 32 pts only 9 of those came from behind the arc. He can get to the rim, he has in the past. The issue at Iowa was there wasn't many opportunities to showcase that - both because of Lickliter's "offense" and him not being able to put basketball ahead of his vices.

LOL Feifel I enjoy how you just make stuff up and claim it as fact. How in the world is JO better at the hoop than Tucker? What the **** is this based on, watching him in lay up lines?

Internet tough guys are funny...have to attack because they aren't able to go anywhere else. At least herby makes crap up or talks about stars or heights, etc.

I made my own honest assesment and never claimed it as fact. At least stormin' gives his honest assessment. Hence I respect his belief and take.

If you kept reading maybe you would see I addressed that I understand people disagreeing and that there is only 1 spot I would honestly think a person is mentally deficient for disagreeing with me. Then there are 2 others I really feel strongly about. The rest I take as my own opinion.

And stormin' you are probably right with your assessment as all I know of tucker is his iowa time. Though I have seen jo live multiple times and just the fact that he gives effort on defense means he gets the nod over tucker.

You're avoiding the question. Why do you think Ogelsby is better at the rim than Tucker?

I wasn't avoiding...I said a few posts above that tucker struggled getting to the rim while at iowa. Stormin' countered that he blames that more on the offense he was in. From my time watching jo at iowa and in hs he can get to the rim quite well. He just typically doesn't go to it. Tucker I do not remember even going to the rim. But you are right I avoided that...wait you just didn't read all my posts. I just elaborated (in this post) on the original post where I addressed it early. But again I will remind you you failed to read and instead wanted to make remarks like a child.

So Ogelsby can get to the rim easily he just chooses not to do it. Got it.

More easily than tucker did in what I have seen. I compare them to each other. If you compare him to say marble then no he doesn't. It is a simple comparison...agree or disagree...I don't care. But acting like a child is pretty sad. Sorry you don't agree but next time try to bring something to the convo rather than calling names and attacks make me think of the immature kids I teach. Would hope we are more mature.

JO can get to the rim? I don't think so. He's a jump shooter. Period. He'd be alot more valuable if he indeed could / would take it to the rim.

I can't believe Tucker is still playing college ball. It seems like he has been playing longer than Settles was.....do they ever lose their eligibility?

Don't think Tucker will be an NBA player, but he's shooting it well. Read the articles posted sometime:

Tucker – who has been named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference player of the week twice – is shooting 51 percent from the field and 46 percent from 3 point.

Tucker played point in AAU and excelled there. His ball-handling is very good - same goes for passing.

It is tough to judge anything on Tucker at Iowa, how many Big Ten games did he play in?

Just about everything, if not everything he did was against the glorious non-con schedules Iowa has played seemingly forever.

When I saw Tucker at Iowa, the only thing that stood out was his shooting, but again I didn't really see it against good competition either.

So Ogelsby can get to the rim easily he just chooses not to do it. Got it.

So can you highlight where 21 said what you stated above? You say words like "facts" but I am not quite sure you know what they actually are. 21 is stating his opinion based on what he has seen.

How about this, neither really can get to the rim, but 21 feels Oglesby can get the better than Tucker?
Does that make sense to you?

Tucker may have gotten over his demons and that is great, it really is, but there is a reason he landed where he did.

What player that transferred out during the Alford/Lickliter days actually became a real contributor at the Major college level? Oglesby will be far more productive at Iowa than Tucker ever was.

Maybe Fuller, but that is a stretch, he plays with similar talent that was at Iowa.
