Where a person lives doesn't require you to commit a crime. The south side isn't a third world country where kids have to scavenger abandoned buildings looking for food or a place to sleep or escape cold weather. He just needs to not make stupid decisions. I have alot of friends who grow up on the south side and didn't commit crimes, serious or minor. It is on the individual to make up their mind about what their going to do.

That's true, I graduated from Lincoln and still live on the Southside and never got into any serious trouble. I've just seen a change in the amount of youth crime over the past 10 years or so including shootings, home invasions, burglaries and busted drug houses. There's always bad kids or bad elements every where you go and it's your choice to avoid them, but when I went to school there most of the "bad element" weren't the "cool kids" who everyone wanted to hang around. Arob was the same way. But you're right, it's up to the kid to make the right choices and I hope this has scared him straight.
 
Gary Barta pointed out until he gets on campus a kid is NOT a student of the University, ,
as for a Criminal Trespass charge you don't have to be in a building for that to happen. you can be on School proerty after hours with no school activities and if the cops get a call for disturbing the peace and you can get charged with Criminal Trespass..
in both cases he was hanging with his friends, as with there being 11 others getting charged with the same charge

You are right the crime rate among the youth has gone up, I chose not to live there when my wife and I were looking for a house. We could have gotten twice as much for our money but we chose to live in Urbandale area.

I made mistakes, I got caught once or twice but I learned from it and changed. I wouldn't have my wife if I was still like I was when I was a kid. If he changes, if that is, he could go on and get an education and play football or he can keep making bad decisions.
 
nope, as its now legal in 2 states to smoke mary jane.
and in Iowa just like in PA its nothing but a ticket up to a certain amount.
get back to me when he is arrested for dealing or kills someone.

I grew up 1 block away from Gates Park the play ground on the east side of Waterloo, and I was no Angel and became a police officer, til I got hurt and could not continue in that profession
people change under proper guidance

if not for a SGT on the WPD, who knows where I would be today.

I didn't take you for a guy who brushed off a weed charge.

I mean, I wouldn't mind it being legal in Iowa. Doesn't mean I would do it, all the time.

my meds are better than they were a couple months ago. since they got adjusted just recently,
but my use of my off hand is getting better with more practice, hey thx's for noticing

not going to be a hypocrite, I did have friends that smoked, but not around me because of what I was.
my 1st contact with weed came in the military at the tender age of 20.
as drinking was my friends and mine interest, the best thing was the legal was 18, and I turned 18 in Oct of my SR. year
not sure what O G stands
