Miller: Can Iowa Still Win the Big Ten?

Lol. You suck at predictions.

I do? Seems as though against Illinois Fran finally open them eyes a bit in the 2nd half and ended the game with players that have impact. :) might I suggest reading what I wrote. :) I actually feel pretty good about my prediction!!!

It seems like a longshot at this point. I think Iowa has to go at least 8-1 to have a chance. That gives Iowa 4 conference losses, so MSU & Michigan each have to lose 3 more for Iowa to even get a share.

MSU's remaining schedule looks a little more difficult to me compared to Michigan's (one game head to head in Ann Arbor). I'm not convinced both of these teams have 3 losses apiece left in them.

As someone else said, I think Iowa's battling for second place right now, unless we get some help that we're not expecting. Or manage to steal a win in East Lansing.

That loss at home to MSU was huge.

I believe (1977 Hawkeyes question may have been covered in detail earlier in the thread.

Iowa looks to be heavily favored in 7 of those, moderately favored at IU (probably 5-6 pts), and a road underdog vs Sparty ( maybe +4.5?). But Iowa has covered the spread on 5-6 road games, so their significant skill set box travels well (and that goes for road game at IU as well.).

Barring any one player going all Yogi Farrel for 27, I would say bet Iowa to Win those 7 outright and cover the spread @ IU and MSU, while hoping lady luck has a few balls bounce IOWAs way.

Seriously? Fran played 11 guys against Illinois. Check the box score. I previously offered you an over under bet on your 4th place finish and never heard a word. I was just letting it go as a post you would like to take back but if you're going to start with this garbage. Go respond to my post and tell me what we're betting. Yeah, that's what I thought.

"...I like this type of analysis. Please continue to share when you are so inclined..."

I believe that makes 2 of us :)

A guy from the future that gave us mortals a hint that Michigan would lose at Indiana .... count me in.

Seriously, some good stuff, tom.

When do the Chiefs win a playoff game?

How old are you? I mean really dude.

All I will say is this Iowa was damn fortunate that 11 was played against Illinois. Like I said above Fran did Dial that lineup back a bit in the second half and kudo's to him for doing it. If he tried running that same crap he did in the first half. sadly we probably singing a different tune right now.

We outscored Illinois by 4 in the first half and only 3 in the second half.

I think the Hawks finish 6-3 back half and 12-6 overall, very respectable. Likely losses are at MSU, at IU, at MN, and home UM. If we can do 7-2 back half that would be AWESOME and probably worth 2nd place.

Actually, you are showing four more losses.

But I think the Hawks will go 4-1 at home, and 2-2 on the road.

I think a #4 or #5 seed in The Dance is very likely.

Old enough to speak my mind... I had dropped it until you started patting yourself on the back for no reason...in the same thread and at the expense of another poster no less. That's weak but you go ahead and keep telling everyone how smart you are if you think that somehow makes it true.

Just the Truth.. Shorten the Bench..

Toot - toot.. Lucky it was Illinois. Time to Shorten the Bench...

Welp. I guess we can put this thread to rest now. What a joke of a performance tonight, except for Olaseni and Gessell.

Now, before everyone goes haywire, let's wait to see what kc has to say about this topic. Dude's a wizard at concocting "rational" expectations and spinning them as probabilities based on little more than hope and selective reasoning.

kc ... that was some "regression", tonight, wasn't it?;)

(Again, I'm just joking. I enjoyed the debate. God Bless, ya, man!)

Guys...if you take the Tom Penn rankings...and then multiply them by the ken pom rankings...and subtract RPI....WE ARE A TOP 5 team!!
