Matt and Miller Twitter

A 2 minute intro with play by play calls from the weekend is called entertainment - when SportsCenter plays an intro their show like that - do you call it a commercial?

I can't believe I'm even arguing this....

The best part of this is all of those complaining are LISTENING TO THE SHOW, in fact verifying the exact time the show comes on.

So in the end, Matt wins, lol.

You're right...yesterday it was 11 after when you actually came on the air. I don't count the 3 minute highlight package of the NFC championship that you thought needed to be heard twice as air time. It's been that way the entire football season, at least on Mondays. But hey, at least you had the music turned down enough yesterday that you could hear Paul Allens voice.

The central point is that the length of commercial breaks on KXNO is riduclous, as is the format that the hour is broken up into. Why do you guys come out of a commercial break at 2 or 3 minutes before the hour, have a 1 or 2 minute segment, and then have another 8 minutes of commercials?
Have to agree that the radio higlights GET SUPER ANNOYING at the top of each hour, not the fox ones, the nfc champ ones

Matt, Why would you want Creighton to play those drunks from Iowa? I thought you were a little out of line today when you were discussing the Tucker situation and then brought up the football team.. You stated people(both pro and anti Iowa people) need to have a huge protest about what is going on at the University of Iowa athletic dept. and the drinking. What kind of protest are you looking for?

Well, if Matt went to Creighton he probably does not know what a real college town is like, you know with bars and restaurants and something around besides Dodge St and the ghetto. If Matt can show me a study where Iowa city is any different than the likes of Madison, etc I would listen to this ridiculous statement. Until then, i would waste your time aruging about it, he is trolling on the boards and trying to stir up listeners and I do not blame him a bit for doing it. Football is over and being controversial is a smart thing to do, he knows people are passionate about Iowa and understands making ridiculous comments stirs things up.

I'm not trolling and this thread was started to help alert people of a new social media for our show but I've said numerous times that Iowa needs to have a zero tolerance policy towards alcohol related incidents. There have just been too many.

It doesn't help that underage students are allowed into bars in Iowa City -something Iowa should really step up an effort to change.

Iowa has had way too many incidents, you guys know them well, to allow Tucker back on the team. 2 alcohol incidents in 13 months plus grades - sorry, he should not be on the team any longer.

So what kind of a protest are you looking for? Do you really think iowa or any other college team is going to adopt a zero tolerance policy on alcohol? This is college were talking about.

Matt, that sounds pretty close - actually, you may as well have just re-aired that show - of what you said about Kyle Calloway when he got in trouble. What got you on the soapbox today?

Why shouldn't he be? The Athletic Department policy at Iowa is of the 3 strikes and you're out variety. Obviously it's up to the coachs discretion, but there isn't anything in the AD's policy that says Tucker should be gone. Get over yourself and spare us all the self-rightousness.

Why would Iowa play Creighton in Des Moines? Makes no sense.

I find it hilarious that you think Creighton should go to Carver to play against Iowa. A game in Des Moines makes perfect sense for both Iowa and Iowa State.

It makes sense for ISU, not Iowa, and especially not for Iowa in 2011 when they all ready have road games at ISU and UNI. Do you think Creighton would want to make 3 trips to Iowa in one year?

Why the hell not? UNI does it, Drake does it, so do many other teams. LOL at you thinking playing in Des Moines "makes sense" for Iowa.

Agreed, it's not like he was charged with something trivial like grabbing his girlfriend by the hair and throwing her down a flight of stairs...

On a side note I heard Kirk signed up on to follow Matt on twitter and was immeadiately beaten with a baseball batt.

How come a guy is on a Hawkeye Message board who is a lover of Drake? If you went to Drake, that's cool but shouldn't you say you are a Hawkeye fan first? OK, should I change the name to IowaBulldog? That's the issue I have with Valley fans in DSM. Matt, you rode in from a two pony state, where there is Nebraska FB and Creighton BB, a much different situation than here in Iowa. Two major college FB programs, four major college BB teams. Even as a Drake BB fan, I cheer for Iowa and UNI in hoops. Other than Ames, many Hawk fans cheer for the little brothers.

Drake fans need to be Drake fans...UNI etc....maybe I'm just off but that's more logical to me. So why are you on this site? This has nothing to do with Creighton or your beloved SEC. I grew up a Hawk fan, graduated from Drake, and have had Iowa season tix for years. Iowa has never asked me where I graduated from when they cash my check. I sorry you don't like the show but maybe it's cause you like Drake and I'm a Creighton guy? It has nothing to do with with Creighton or your Rivals site:confused:...it's about the quality of you radio program. I can go to the bar and listen to a drunk spew the same opinions. It's obvious from your post, there is a lack of understanding your audience here in central Iowa.

Either or - thanks for those who do listen and follow. My personal twitter will be much different than the Matt and Miller Twitter. The new one is purely about the show...

Why give up a potential home game for a game that could have more Creighton fans than Iowa fans? We play two Valley schools a year, no reason to play a third.

Nobody goes to our home games. A game in Des Moines would draw Hawk fans from The Metro, as well as CU fans in Des Moines, and a lot of CU fans would make the drive from Omaha.

A full arena...ahhhh the possibilities.

I cant believe Matt would even consider such a thing, cant they sell beer at Wells Fargo. My goodness all our players might be drunk at halftime. Well maybe late in the second half-they have training(right Matt).

You said it not me....Iowa vs. Creighton in 2011 is a very good idea for everyone involved. You'll see how many Jays fans will come to DSM next year for Iowa State. Heck, there will be over 2k in the Knapp Center on Saturday for the game against Drake.

Iowa vs. Creighton should and needs to happen.

Didnt Iowa play Creighton home-n-home during Alford era? seems like i remember that-its a regional game, kind of surprised they dont already play every year.

idk tho, UNI is kinda turning into the new Creighton and Iowa already plays them every year

Again explain to me why Iowa needs to play three Valley schools in one year? Don't even get me started on playing in Des Moines, no thanks.
