You people amaze me. This is a potent offensive team. Any win in Ames is fantastic. Step away from the edge...at the end of the year no one will say this one didn't count. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Nicely done
I take it you didn't watch the game huh? You really think that was a well called offensive game plan? How about Wadley on 3 and 8 and he ran it to the short side of the field? Does that count? How about you take a look at the average distance to go on third down. You think that's sustainable? Please share with the forum, the play, down and distance that you objected to. Describe the defense that was presented. And tell us, what play you would have called....and more importantly - why. And try not to take advantage of hindsight.
So you're saying Iowa will be static with averaging 9 or 10 yards on third down.Well if you think we will beat another team this year besides N Texas and Illinois averaging 9 or 10 yards to go on third down, you're sadly mistaken.

To be specific....Wadley was tougher.Josey Jewell says hello...from his back on the Jack Trice 5 yard line. ISU was the tougher team today. They pushed us around and ran us over.
First, no doubt happy with the win today. But, let's not go putting lipstick on the pig folks. The play calling on both sides of the ball, especially the defensive side was downright brutal. Iowa got out played, out coached and out toughed today and that should make all of us sick. I hope this coaching staff can use today's sloppy effort as a learning experience. This team needs to see some real improvement or it's going to be a very long season. Today's game has really highlighted the weakness in the secondary and the offensive line. Time to get to work gentleman.
I was very disappointed with Iowa's play on the LOS on both sides of the ball. Good teams will line up against ISU and run it easily. Iowa didn't. They also ran on Iowa very easily for most of the 2nd half and ISUs OL is average on their beat day.
This game reminded me of last years NDSU game. Iowa got handled on the LOS by a team that has no business doing so but got a late break with ISUs WR dropping a pass in OT. That just shows the thin line between a win and a loss.
Kudos to the passing game for saving the day
That last sentence carries major significance. It's been a very long time since we've last been able to say that.
And Wadley...A very long time. Stanley missed a few deep throws but that guy straight got it done today. Bizzaro world Iowa
And Wadley...
Yep. IMO he's the best offensive player Iowa has had in 30+ years
