Lebron > Jordan?

Put me on the list of Lebron needing more hardware before I even consider this. Sorry, in the NBA that is how your greatness is measured.

Off the subject, I'm tired of watching Lebron flop and acting like he has been shot anytime someone touches him. He is 6'8, 240 lbs with 3% body fat please stop with this non-sense.

Today's NBA is better than the 90's. Early 90's saw way too many teams that played that Pistons grab and hold, grind it out, isolation, dudes with big rear ends backing people down "thug" balll. The Pistons had dudes who could score you could watch those guys play, but those Heat/Knicks teams were brutal to watch. John Starks on a bad night made you cringe.

Mid to late 90's saw waaaay too many Jordan wannabes, style over substance "I got get mine" mentality permeated through out the league. David Stern has done a nice job of cleaning up the league the last 5 years and all the stars are likable people. You couldn't say that 15 years ago.

Lebron is one of the most difficult players to bring down and it takes a lot. He is not out there pulling vlade divacs. sometime to get calls you want you need to put on an act, but everyone at one point will oversell contact to get the call.

1) Jordan
2) Kobe

Thats the list so far. When Bron wins a couple rings then we can chat about his place in history.

I don't like the "rings" argument one bit.I agree with you that Jordan is #1, but Kobe has had so much more talent around him than LBJ has had. If you put James on any of the teams Kobe has played with, he easily wins the same amount of rings, if not more. Look what a supporting cast has done for LeBron already.

LeBron has that chance right now. If he wins 4 or 5 rings he will pass Kobe on the list. Like I said before its impossible to rank LeBron's place in history in 2011

Kobe has played with great players but you cant deny his greatness

Really? You can sell a call without being a drama queen. I guess I can do without the theatrics, especially from a man built the way he is.

Do what Jordan did and lobby the h*ll out of the official.

Derek Fisher, one of the top point guards ever to play the game? 5 titles!

Robert Horry blah, blah, blah......I didn't write the rules here everyone else did its been a prerequisite every since i have been on this planet.

Ding ding ding!!! We have a winner. Any of the recent championship teams had a supporting cast that ***** on what Lebron had in Cleveland. Jordan would've had a tough time winning with those players. He had Pippen at least. Who was Lebron's best supporting player in Cleveland? I rest my case.

What are we even talking about....it can be argued Lebron isn't the best player on his team.

I love Wade and he's a hell of a player, but no, that can't be argued. Quit lying to yourself- Lebron is a hell of talented player.

Yeah and I'm sure when the Heat get done with their run they will have won titles with a lot of different back up guards and back up centers too. Bottom line is Jordan always had elite All-NBA talent around him. No different than LeBron now.

I think you are seriously misusing the word "elite". Lebron has two other elite players on his team in Wade and Bosh. He has some other very good NBA talents in guys like Mike Miller, Mike Bibby, Haslem and Chalmers (could end up being a very solid pg for years).

Jordan had Pippen who is considered elite. No one else Jordan played with is at the elite level. BJ was good, but was he any better than Bibby? Kukoc was good but is he any better than Miller? They are pretty equivalent players really.

Jordan never had a big guy nearly as talented, especially on offense, as Bosh. Wade and Pippen could be seen as a wash. Rodman was a great defender and great rebounder, but was not in the same arena offensively as what Bosh is.

Pippen could never be a go to guy in the NBA...he proved that when Jordan was gone. Wade and Bosh were proven go to guys for each of their teams. I just don't see how you can make a comparison between the two when it comes to supporting casts. The Heat have a lot more talent on their roster than the Bulls did.

I just don't get this.

If you took Jordan after 8 years, and Lebron after 8 years and had to pick one to build a team around with similar players, everybody KNOWS that they would take Jordan or they would be no better than 2nd.

This concept of a big 2 or 3 is nothing new. Some of the other all-time greats had other great players around them. Magic had Kareem and Worthy, and Bird had Parish and McHale.
Going back even further, Wilt late in his career had Baylor and West.

Winner of the thread.

Rodman was elite. He's a hell of a lot closer to being a HOFer than Bosh ever will be. You just brush aside the fact that Rodman was a great rebounder/defender like it's meaningless. Hell, he might be the greatest rebounder this game has ever seen.

And are you kidding with asking if BJ was better than a washed up Mike Bibby?

Lebron may not be the better player, but HE IS THE better athlete. He is bigger, stronger, faster, jumps higher, quicker. What else do you need to know?
Lebron is bigger and stronger. Compared to Jordan in the first half of his career, Lebron is definitely NOT quicker and probably not any faster and I would need to see proof that he has a higher vertical than Jordan. Since when is athleticism only measured by those things anyway? How about the creative and difficult shots that Jordan was always making? How about his gracefulness in the air? You are basically equating bigger with more athletic and that is a poor argument IMO.
