James Morris not drafted

I'm not totally shocked that James Morris didn't get drafted. I expected him to go in round 6 but when that didn't happen I thought he probably wouldn't go. Might be better. The Vikings and Packers both need linebacker help. It'l be interesting to see where he goes.

SEC defensive player of the year went in the 7th round. what happens in college doesn't necessarily translate to the NFL.

Ok, I'm just going to say what everyone is thinking. He was passed over because he's white playing in a position that is dominated by black players in the NFL. NFL personnel people (GM's) have been brainwashed into thinking the small town white kid from Iowa can't possibly play with these types of athletes. Furthermore, I think it it's important to also point out...I'm kidding.

Dude, are you hammered? I know you are kidding, but where did that come from?

All world linebacker, the greatest LB ever to play in college did not get drafted, Jake Knott made a roster. Maybe James Morris has a chance.

I'm not shocked by this, but I do think he can find someplace to stick as a FA. Honestly, I was more surprised by Hitchens getting taken as early as he was. I figured he'd go in the fifth or sixth rounds.

Obviously why else do you think he was drafted. James Morris might have kept it under 100.

Nevermind BU would have only scored 90 on Iowa without breaking a sweat.

Is Baylor the same conference champion that got beat by Central FLA in their bowl matchup?

Shayne Skov of Stanford and Max Bullough of Michigan State also undrafted. A few good middle linebackers left out there that will catch on with a team.

If you really want to know why he didn't get drafted, watch this video, starting at the 50 second mark. Crap we saw for four years and you know the pro scouts saw when they broke down film on him. There are two linemen pulling right across his face. He goes for the play fake and the play goes for a big gain.

What's Morris's "strength"?

I watched him for 4 years, I couldn't identify it. He was okay, not great, at everything as best I could tell. Couple that with a below-average size, and why would anyone draft him?

That kid who made the big play at the end of the Auburn Alabama game didn't get drafted, he even played well in the National Championship Game.

+1 and like.

Yes, Morris was terrible. Thank God he's finally gone.

Good football skills but a 4.8 40 time

Plus, the ever dreaded, short arms. I only watched about 90 total seconds of draft coverage, but when I did, they were talking about arm length (which is why I stopped watching). However, out of curiosity, I looked up the method for measuring arm length in the NFL, then had a measurement of my own arms. My 32" arms are longer than James', and I am 3" shorter.

I never noticed before, but Morris did kind of look like a T-Rex running around out there...

James ended up in a great spot...I will actually be surprised if he doesn't catch on in New England...he's a Belichek player...maybe not the most physically talented...but any time he steps on the field...he is going to be one of the most intelligent players...and he's going to give you 100% out there regardless.

James is the type of kid though that doesn't really need the NFL...he's going to be successful whatever he's doing.
