Isaiah Moss

At this point isn't just about anything possible in terms of who may or may not transfer after the year? I hope most of the group sticks around. I just really wish Fran would get a better handle on whatever it is he's trying to do with his substitutions. Uhl played a lot more for some reason. Kriener not so much. I know Cook got into a little foul trouble but not bad enough to play as little as he did. Late in regulation he had Pemsl in along with a good free throw shooting group. I wish at that point in the game he'd go small and have all good free throw shooters out there. Or go with a Kriener he can make free throws I don't see him being a liability in crunch time and I wish he'd get a shot. Seeing Wagner and Pemsl clanging free throws left and right is getting to be frustrating.

This loss has everyone a little chippy today.

Yeah, I probably am - and so I apologize if I am coming off as a troll to tk or even unfair or chippy. IMO and just my opinion - Moss's transfer probability would be lower than just about any one on the roster sans Jordan or Baer.

With Pemsl over Cook in this game and Ellingson over Moss, it looks like Fran is going with understanding what needs to be done over physical ability to execute it. I get that to a point, but the more athletic guys aren't that far away. The starters are starting for good reasons.

I was disappointed in Moss not playing towards the end of the gopher game as well, but Fran is the same every year. He trusts his older guys in clutch situations. Ellingson is the "veteran" and he's shown he can take care of the ball and play defense, so he plays in crunch time. Just like McCabe did, just like Oglesby did, just like Clemmons did.

Uhl played more last night because Iowa desperately needed help on defense and rebounding. Cook really struggles in both of those areas.

Moss will not transfer, he's already starting and basically in line to replace Jok's minutes next year.

I don't have a answer but agree with Misterlucky, maybe Fran doesn't like his freight train mentality when he drives to the basket.

Well, I for one like it, he's being aggressive, oh wait, let's give the ball to Jok 25 ft from the rim, bad back, try and do some sort of isolation with 6 seconds left....usually ends badly

FTR: I do not think Moss will transfer, but if Fran keeps holding him out in the second half like he has, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Moss decided to utilize his talents at another school.
He's too good to drop down a class...not sit out a year. He's already used his RS. He's playing a lot...as a RS freshman...and the guy ahead of him is graduating. I will be absolutely stunned if transfers...unless it's an issues with grades, family, etc.

Nebraska, Minnesota, NW, etc. better get their licks in this year because we aren't going to lose many games next year, or the following year, or the year after that or...

The HAWKS just played an awesome game losing in double OT at a hostile environment to a talented team after it looked like they were going to be blown out of the gym. Had they won nobody would be questioning the playing time. Which of those players that each have pretty much been responsible for a W this season does not deserve to play? There is simply a wealth of talent for a change and the coaching staff is trying to have the right guys out there at the right time. From the way the game went they didn't miss it by much if any...

Never should of went into overtime. Didn't hear a time out called OK but how does the team with their player standing out of bounds get a alternating possession?

I think you need to look at this table to understand why . It's all about chemistry , reactions to another atoms when mixed together.

Attentions to details or hardworks. I think the team is fine. They'll grow into Final Four team next year . I'm excited for the future.

Only 16 minutes for Moss last night. Hardly any in the 2H IIRC. He was 1-6 from the field but it's not like any of our guards were shooting well.

His lack of playing time, especially in the 2H of games just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

It's mind boggling and frustrating.

I really like Moss's game. He gets out of position a little too much but his on ball defense is pretty good and he's a triple threat on offense. I get the feeling it's all mental for him, if that light comes on, he could be the next in line. Gatens, Marble, White, Uthoff, Jok,.....Moss? The biggest difference is Moss will likely have more talent around him than most of the other guys for next few years.

There's gotta be something we aren't seeing though for him not getting more minutes. He seems like he's got a good demeanor about him, really hope he takes the next step.

Man we shot bad last night, Jok....Moss....Jbo.....all off on the shooting....just won't win when that happens.

Exactly. I like Moss too. I chalk it up to being a freshman.. He's clearly got the tools just has to get consistent and keep working. But yet his PT being so sporadic is just weird and not his fault.

And your totally right. When those 3 players all shot as bad as they did Iowa just can't win. If they make just half of the shots they missed they'd have been right there. But it's not even just that. The lack of rebounding is embarrassing. The fact Iowa gets their fair share of offensive rebounds to me means the lack of it at the defensive end is a lack of focus and effort. Wagner one time was in position to box out his guy but didn't even try just watched the ball. He needed to be yanked at the next dead ball and preached to about that. Until players know that they are going to be sat for lack of effort I don't see it changing.

And here we go.... It's pure speculation what that means. I know I saw him look frustrated in the 2H against Nebraska when he got pulled. Against MSU he got put in for 20 seconds while Jok was hurt and then instantly benched at the next whistle.

IMO of the freshman he might be the most important. We just don't have anybody else who can defend peremiter players. Not to mention he has some offensive promise.

Does he have a kid or is he an uncle? It could just be a dirty diaper.
