Is Iowa still a lock for the dance?

Um, Iowa beat Indiana twice and is nine spots ahead of the Hoosiers in the NET.

I must have missed the illogical classes you've been attending.
Well, there was another season where Iowa beat Indiana twice and finished above them in the standings where Iowa was left out and Indiana got in, so there’s that.

If Indiana wins at least 2 BTT games and Iowa goes one and done, you bet they are in and the Hawks are out.

If (when?) Iowa loses on Thursday BEST CASE is a First Four game. I hope I’m wrong. I hope the Hawks manage to win Thursday and remove all doubt.

First, I do not believe at all that you hope you are wrong. I think you're rooting for Iowa to lose.

And Indiana getting into the tournament isn't going to keep Iowa from getting in. It's not an either or situation in anyone's mind other than yours.

So if Indiana wins two and Iowa is one and done then Indiana bounces ahead of Iowa and that forces Iowa to get bounced by all of these teams ... ?

Syracuse,
Clemson,
NCST,
Creighton,
NMST,
St Johns,
Temple,
SH,
AZST,
TCU,
Wash,
UT ST,
OK,
Baylor,
Ole Miss,
Iowa State
Minnesota
Ohio State

You just dribbled logic off your knee out—of—bounds.

Iowa’s Q1 and Q2 record is better than all of those

and that’s WHY bracketologists still have Iowa in the 7-8 seed range

I’m sure you’d say Louisville is firmly IN and yet their Q1 and Q2 record is 4-10 and 4-2

VATech is 4-7 and 6-0 and firmly in as a 5-seed.

Those two wins over Indiana may end up being the deciding factor in getting US in. Or certainly a major factor. If Indiana sweeps us, both team's conference records, and place in the standings, are reversed. The NET's probably would be as well. We would both be 19-12 overall.

Wrong. I want Iowa to win and get in.

I also didn’t say it was either/or. Your words, not mine. If Indiana wins a couple of games in the BTT I do think they are in. If Iowa loses their BTT game I think they are either out or in the First Four game. I guess we’ll find out Sunday.

You are under the assumption the committee is going to “do the right thing”. I am not. I have seen....too many times...where teams got in that shouldn’t, and deserving teams were left out. I have seen Iowa get screwed on seeding and blue blood programs given MORE than the benefit of the doubt.

We’ll find out Sunday. Personally, I would prefer NOT to be sweating during the selection show.

I'm pretty certain that Iowa is going to lose regardless of who we play. My hope is that we lose to Northwestern (NET 88) rather than Illinois (NET 105) . If Illinois beats us, it will be a toss-up between Play In game vs NIT. However, losing to Northwestern we are definitely in the First Round.

If Iowa wins their first BTT game, they will likely get crushed by Michigan (revenge factor) and be a #10 seed.

Off-topic but when was the last time Cook went to the hoop for a dunk? Also, he is 2-14 from the field and 5-11 from the line in the final two games. Also, his minutes are down. Is his knee bothering him?

So selection committee comparing resumes of Iowa to X and thinks

“well, iowa’s resume is better but let’s take the worse resume this time.”

And they’ll have to do that 15 times to leave Iowa out.

I still don't want to lose to Northwestern just like we did to Northwestern State. It was like a dagger to my heart! Get them out of BTT and play MSU. Believe me, I have never been happy with our performance in BTT for years. Just get them while you can.

I'm surprised your reading comprehension is this bad...unless you are purposely being obtuse.

Where did I say that Indiana would REPLACE Iowa? Nowhere. You may not believe this....but the scenarios for Indiana and Iowa are mutually exclusive. Iowa losing could cause one of the first four out teams to take Iowa's slot. And Indiana winning 2 could have them jump all the first four out teams. Iowa could win one game and make the tournament, while at the same time Indiana could win 2 and ALSO make the tournament.

You are arguing for arguments sake.

If you don't think its possible Iowa could be out of the tournament (or stuck in the First Four round) if they lose Thursday, then I am disappointed in you. Same goes for DDThompson.

Try to be understanding of viewpoints that differ from yours. At this point, neither of us knows what is going to happen.
