Iowa not in Final 3 for Katenda

All the teams recruiting him have been NCAA tournament teams and three of them were A-10 teams, who can play. The only team that hasn't made the tournament that was recruiting him was Northwestern, but I forget, are they are in the Big Ten?
Do you mean tournament teams last year? Or, do you mean at some point in the history of the NCAA tourney these programs you speak of participated? And you are happy that the Hawks were able to out duel teams fron the Atlantic 10 for this kid. I think a team residing in the Big Ten is failing when only this caliber of recruit can be signed.
We'll have to agree to disagree I suppose.

Who offered Basabe? I know we beat Miami (OH) for Cartwright. I think McCaffery has earned some trust in his ability to evaluate talent.

Actually I am perfectly fine with Iowa getting a player away from an A-10 team like Temple and Duquense, both are likely tournament teams. The A-10 is the best non power six conference and play very good basketball as a league. When an at-large birth goes to teams in this league, rarely is it questioned. St. Boneventure offered him as well. Boston College offered him as well and had been after White much longer than Iowa. We can just disagree on this and that is fine. White plays against quality competition at Strongsville and always the best player on the floor. I guess we can look at this in about 4 years and see who was right.

I look like an idiot because I don't read about a player that "might" be going to the Hawkeyes.

You do realize I'm not a hawk fan don't you?

Hate to break it to you but you're the one getting trolled.

Take a look at my post total. You really are quite stupid.

Then do us all a favor and raise the IQ of the board and remove yourself from it, since after all this is a Hawkeye board.

Duquesne hasn't been to the tourney in a minute. Heck, they even hired Danny Nee.

Please do not leave this board. It is seriously lacking people who understand the game of basketball.

On what basis? All the negative folks will be eating crow, maybe as early as next year. I love the folks on here that posted Iowa won't win 5 games. I love the folks that think Iowa has no players that are Big Ten worthy. Yes lumps will be taken this year and by all rights we should have equaled our win total from last year, but teams have to learn how to win first. This is a good first step in the process. The Big Ten season is going to be rough, but we may be surprised at what happens when we are at home, the road will be brutal. Keep up the negativity because that is all you know as well, some of you have learn how to be positive again, unless you never are.

We can talk after the Big Ten season and the spring signing day. For the record whoever said Iowa would only win 5 games is ridiculous.

The most pessimistic predictions I saw were 8-10 wins on the year. And with Cartwright and May playing the way they are this is very much still on the table. After the last several games I have changed my position on recruiting needs. We need a wing or PG that can just score like Rice from Drake. We also need somebody who can play along side Basabe on the inside. I think they need both to make some positive strides next year and have a chance at a winning record.
