We can talk after the Big Ten season and the spring signing day. For the record whoever said Iowa would only win 5 games is ridiculous.

I would be glad too, and yes 5 wins was a ridiculous number, but it was out there. I think if Gatens and Payne were healthy we would have equalled our win total from last year already.

The most pessimistic predictions I saw were 8-10 wins on the year. And with Cartwright and May playing the way they are this is very much still on the table. After the last several games I have changed my position on recruiting needs. We need a wing or PG that can just score like Rice from Drake. We also need somebody who can play along side Basabe on the inside. I think they need both to make some positive strides next year and have a chance at a winning record.

Totally agree with what we need most, I do think PG is more of a need than a wing. Once May learns how to dribble better and pick better spots on when to attack, he will be that wing player. Also, don't rule out Marble at this point, he can develop into that player. We cannot afford to wait on Paige/Staten with the PG situation it is in now. If Payne can't come back, that could spell bigger trouble and it will be an absolute must. I like Marble, but he is not a PG at this point, lets make him the slashing type of player we need. He already has a good shot and will continue to develop.

I didn't see anyone predict 5 wins. I saw some in the 8-10 win range though. I also saw some in the 15-17 win range which is just as insane as any person predicting 5.

I know May is still relatively young but I am becoming less optimistic that he will develop into a true scorer. He just is so turnover prone when he tries to create with the ball in his hands. I love May and I am glad he is a Hawk but we need to add somebody who can create off the bounce if we want to stop these prolonged scoring droughts that has plagued this team. Maybe Marble can become that player but he just doesn't seem quite quick enough. He is a very solid contributer but not a great scorer.
