Sports Reference says 1531 total points and 652 rebounds. If he comes back he should top the list in both categories barring injury. Assuming averaging about 17 PPG and 9 RPG.
Just looked at Big 10 career and season leaders. Alfraud had 749 points his senior year and 2438 career. I'd really like Garza to pass that guy for season total.Yep, he's sitting pretty good to be around 5th in blocks as well.
I'm sure the spreadsheets will get updated at some point but for those with curious minds like me here are Luka's totals after three seasons:
points 1569
rebounds 660
blocks 104
free throws made 417
and while I'm at it, here's Joe W after two years:
points 823
rebounds 361
made 3s 111
free throws made 190
I'm seeing 174 free throws made for Joe W.
Haha, no worries my man! I'm glad you took the intitiatve and dinged the thread. Otherwise it may have been a few more months before it got updated. You are correct on all of them, seems like I ought to be able to add better.
Some interresting questions there. For Luka's sake, I hope it's his decision and not the pandemic deciding for hm on where he ends up in the record books.Thx for updating.
Now we can realistically speculate where Luka might end up in some of these categories. There is a coulda/woulda/shoulda on all the numbers for all the players. Are these Luka's final numbers? If he does come back, how will the pandemic effect his final numbers?
Garza is one of the best scorers in the nation. You don't give him less touches for the sake of getting other people more touches. It doesn't matter who else is on the team. Garza will be the most efficient and best scoring option.OK, I'll start the speculation. There is no telling how many points Luka by not playing in the BTT or NCAA.
Assuming he does come back I don't think it's a given that he breaks the scoring record. First if he's injured or even gets dinged up that could have a significant impact.
More importantly I don't think next year's team will need him to score as many points. He could make as much or more of an impact with leadership instead of points. Plus if JBo, CJ, Joe W all come back healthy they will be scoring points plus whatever contributions we get from the rest of the team. Plus, in the paint, Nunge and Ogundele will need minutes to grow their games. It will be interesting to say the least.
If Luka doesn't come back, it's a moot point, his numbers are what they are.
