Infield Fly was the right call.

When it becomes apparent that its an infield fly, you call it. When the SS got under it and called it, the umpire called it. Sorry.

Bahahahahaha....the SS was never once under the ball.....plus if it "becomes apparent" that the player will catch the balls a split second before the freaking ball hits the ground, then you know your call was a complete FAIL!

I think you are blind. He was obviously under the ball and was casually drifting back to catch it. He then had time to move out of the way.

It was sooooo apparent that he was gonna catch the ball, that the ball hit the ground....bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Super apparent!

Nice try Card fan!

Im assuming you missed the part where he runs forward out of the way.

He was never under the ball, it was always the LF play. I do love what a majors league pitcher tweeted. He is in favor of the outfield fly rule.

But whatever cardinal fan. It isn't a big deal, you would have won anyway....what's the big deal to admit it was a terrible call?

I admit terrible calls. This wasn't one of them. The sooner you realize that you are wrong the sooner we can get past this.

Not a big deal, a bad call is a bad call. Nothing for me to get past, I didn't have a dog in the fight like you...

Dean,

Politically I will agree with you all day, but on this one the ump followed the rule as it is written. The rule may suck, but it's the rule none the less.

I have not read this thread completely and it's likely been mentioned already. But the Braves poor defense and stupid base running cost them the game more then anything. Their fans, while understandibly upset, showed the true southern redneck spirit by throwing so much garbage on the field. I could see a few drunk idiots doing it, but the level of idiots in Atlanta last night was the reason we northerners think southerners are rednecks.

Since you didn't read the thread let me fill you in....

the call didn't decide the game, the cards win regardless. The call if made in a timely fashion then it is fine. To wait that long to finally decide it is a ordinary ay means that it never was an ordinary play. If It is was so "ordinary" then it would be obvious as soon as the ball is hit.

Either way I'm done arguing with cardinal fan...it was a terrible call when and how the ump called it.

You sound a little pissy Dean. You must be a Cub fan. That explains plenty!:p
