What happened to Basabe in the second half of the Michigan game? They did ignore his outside shot, didn't they? And Basabe never thought to put up an outside shot. Why?
What does having an outside shot have to do with being athletic?
I guess Oglesby is the most athletic guy on the team since he is shooting close to 60% from three on the year.

Oh, so you're talking to me... Someone else mentioned that Basabe was a good athletic matchup against Michigan. I didn't say Basabe was an athletic matchup, I would say he was better down low (in the first half). What about OSU? They're pretty darn athletic and we beat them. Hell Nebraska beat them. It takes a lot more than being athletic to win in basketball. Olaseni is an athletic freak and he's probably our 8th or 9th best player at best.

How did Basabe do when he tried to juke a Michigan defender with an outside shot fake? Hum?Basabe, Clemmons and Gabe easily have as much athleticism as the Michigan guys. They may not be as good of basketball players but thats not what Gomer asked for.

Clemmons is an incredible athlete.

The funny thing is Gesell is probably more athletic than Clemmons. He just doesn't get the credit because he's white.

Iowa is much better than the Lick days. I will definitely agree. There is much more work to be done, however. Don't jump to conclusions.

None of this changes the fact that Basabe can match up with Michigan athletically.

Gesell is a good athlete, not as good as AC though IMO.

Maybe the great athletes will never come to Iowa. IMO, a ten-man rotation isn't conducive to getting the elite player.
