I think we all know

In that article it points out times when Florida felt they got cheated by the refs. Do you think they sit around on their message boards 12 years later discussing and trying to prove a decade old miscalled game? And meaningless bowl games win or lose do not effect recruiting. They effect passionate fans and that’s about it.

Still the worst officiating I have ever seen. That video also omits the uncalled 12th man, where the Florida guy runs right past the Linesman who is supposed to call those.

Not sure why you had to post such a negative thing right before the season. Yes it was the one of if not the worst start to finish officiating job ever in college football.

Total phantom calls.

Well since I paid nearly $3500 to go to that game, my response to your thoughts is....
This was 12 years ago and this fan base is still talking about it. Since then that same team beat the hawks 30-3 in the same bowl and won multiple national titles. And we call cyclone fans little brother syndrome fan base. It was a meaning less bowl game over a decade ago. Get over it and worry more about a Hawkeye Men’s athletic dept that won ZERO conference titles this last year. To me that’s a heck of a more pressing issue than a meaningless bowl game in which if the hawks do get the onside kick and score that only means the game would be tied.

That was a poorly officiated game to say the least. The worst that I can remember in terms of being one-sided but it should serve as a lesson to coaches and players. Don't leave the game in the hands of officials.

12 years later college football officiating is still shaky at best and will continue to be until the B1G and college football get their heads on straight and pay officials to be full time officials. This is particularly hurtful to schools like Iowa. The B1G usually sends their top crews to officiate the most high profile games which include Ohio St, Michigan, Penn St and Wisconsin. So unless they are playing those teams they get the lower graded crews.

And the head coach on Florida's sideline was none other than Urban Meyer. It helped make last year's whuppin of Ohio State even more satisfying.

You could practically see a smirk on that lead official's face as he made some of those calls if not the proverbial canary feathers, and Benjamin's, falling out of his mouth.

Did you take your parents and 4 brothers with u in that 3500?

This game still comes up from time to time, not because of a bad call. It's because of the NUMBER of bad calls and their egregious nature. Not "was that pass interference or not"...or "that should have been holding"...absolutely ridiculous stuff that was obvious to even the most casual fan. And to top it off, at the end of the game they blew another call which could have decided the game.

Every team gets a bad call now and then...Iowa's no different. But I've watched a lot of football and I've never seen one team get jobbed so badly by the officials. (not even ISU, who always gets screwed by the refs...right?) Apparently Chris Spielman agreed along as well as the CUSA officials.

Why you still here?

It's not just that they missed a call. They missed at least 5 critical calls that were all very important in the game. Fans have a right to still be pissed off. Iowa got screwed out of a great bowl win. What do you care, anyway?

I've always thought the bold above and state this very same thing to young players I coach. This is why I don't get so worked up about that Iowa vs NW State tournament loss years ago. They kept the game close enough to lose to that team and they did in the last seconds.

BUT, this game had 5 horrible game changing calls. Five! That is very difficult for a team to overcome, especially in football when field position plays a part in the game. Iowa was clearly getting jobbed in that game.

Every team has times they feel they got a bad call. Few, if any, have experienced what IOWA did in that bowl game. If you can't grasp the difference, no explanation will get through to you.

Can someone with a lot of free time find out who the officiating crew consisted of and where they went to college and/or if they are fans of the Gators, please?

Eh I was young and my income was almost completely disposable. Not something I would be able to do today lol.

Kids change that. I started young. Never much disposable income. Some of it went to disposal (garbage), but not disposable. One of my kids washed pretty rocks in the diswasher with a disposal. Killed it.

Yup kids change it all. That is why every adult in history has told children to wait. To be smart, use protection.

Damn dude go sip some soy lattes and get a massage or something. You can’t pretend not to care and then be this pretentious.
