I remember when I had my first beer

Just wondering when you had yours. I think I shared a beer or two with an older kid when I was in grade school. Held my nose with each sip. Don't like it. And I told my parents afterward.
 
I 'memba. I was probably nine or ten. There was a Budweiser tall boy that had been sitting in the fridge for months. I told my Dad, "I'm gonna drink that." He said "OK.", probably knowing I wouldn't be able to handle it. He was right, I couldn't. One drink, and "Yuck! How do people drink this stuff!?"

I'm still that way with Bud Heavy
 
My dad would always be working in the garage or on our car. He'd have me run in to "Get me another one." When he'd be under the car, I'd take it off the bench and take a couple sips/swigs of it. He come back up and sometimes half his can would be gone. Old Milwaukee regular. I liked the taste. Still do. First time with my boys was prob when 13 or 14 had a "campout" down by the river. First time probably drunk. Not smart as also racing our mopeds thru the woods.
 
First time for me was 15. I’d tried beer before that but hated the taste and never could finish one. But liquor hangovers caused me to reconsider and I tried some Coors Light. Barely had a mixed drink since. Its still is my choice for light beer.

No kidding...geez...I'm waiting for the "When was the first time you got laid?" thread. Actually, I'd like to combine this thread and that one. That day, I drank too much beer for the first time and threw up while getting laid for the first time. So I then smoked a joint for the first time to calm my upset stomach.

Ideas like this were not smart but as long as everyone came away relatively undamaged it was quite fun. Of course a buddy of mine lost an eye doing something this. One of the few high school parties I was glad I was grounded for. Did I just say “grounded”? Damn that dates me way old
 
My grandpa gave me a little bit when I was 4 or 5. That managed to keep me away from the swill until I was legal, believe it or not.
 
An old kid from my school bought a 6 pack and sold me one for a buck when I was 14. I took about 2 drinks and couldn't stand it so I held it for about a half hour, then went to pee by a tree and poured it out.
 
I was 13 on a camping trip with my buddies and their grandparents. One of them bet me I wouldn't drink one of his grandpa's beers. I was gross, but I wasn't gonna give him the satisfaction of being right.
 
I was fifteen and it was a Miller Lite. First time I got sick was drinking too much Star beer later that summer. Drinking age was eighteen in Wisconsin then and I went to college with Iowa City and Cedar Rapids kids who said they would road trip up there on Fridays after school and get back in time for high school football games.

Never, not even once, have I tried the other vices. (But to each their own, I drink too much Mountain Dew). And I took a lot of shit for it. I'm healthier now than I was in my thirties with Mrs Northside being no small factor. Some of my high school friends on the other hand....
 
When I was in elementary school my dad gave me a sip of his brew one night. I about gagged on it. Today, I hardly drink beer. I now prefer whiskey, vodka and red wine.
 
how many of you have done a beer bong? It's not easy. I doubt I could do one today.

First full beer: 14 after bailing hay....Oly....did like it somewhat.
High school beer staple: Old Milwaukee in bottles.
College beer staple: Bud and whatever was on tap on dime-draw-nights at Whitfield's. We also had Old Style for a quarter a can in our frat's pop machine.
Current: anything dark
 
My grandfather tried to make me gag, by feeding me beer and canned sardines on saltines. I wrecked his plan by liking both... I was 6 or 7 at the time. It's been a long strange trip since then. Drank in a bar for the first time with the same grandfather. Guy was a character.

Fine framework

First: don't recall the brand

Highschool staple: PBR - yuck!

College: Bud or Miller High LIfe

Post College - Milwaukee's Best and later it was IPAs, then I quit. I didn't have all I wanted, I just had all I could stand.
