I am sorry if this sounds mean spirited....

You know who suddenly is getting a hell of a lot of respect for Kirk Ferentz? Nebraska media. They are starting to turn and fawn over him because he represents what they want. Identity, consistency and toughness. He was in Omaha over the weekend recruiting and their media was all a buzz because he's going after kids in the area that aren't even on Nebraska's radar.

about every 3 posts on HN - the trolls like to state "If Iowa was in the East" ... "If Iowa was in the Big 12"... "If Iowa was in the SEC" .... "If Iowa played in NFC..."

save it - they don't.
Oh. So you aren't a troll because, IMO, (now don't accuse me of being a troll) if you were a student and a speaker who you disagreed with came to speak at your college, you'd begin to heckle them immediately. Do these other analogist posts invade your safe space?

I don't even know what you are talking about.

Go figure. This is mean spirited and I'm sorry. See, other posters are using the 'if Iowa were in the B1G east', for example, analogies to point out Iowa is a front runner of the weak sister division of the B1G. You may not get that (If you do, I apologize, again).

I'm also pointing out a troll would never consider themselves a troll and, for example, the students at American colleges who interrupt speakers they disagree with intimating the speakers are trolls while the students are, themselves, trolls.

A bully or a defender of safe spaces is in the eye of the beholder.

I am not a student - I don't go see speakers who I disagree with - and I don't heckle people - I don't have a "safe space". I also don't care about how Iowa would do in the B1G East because they aren't in the B1G East and I live my life in reality.

Haha what? People troll all the time purposefully while knowing full well what they are doing. Could be one of the most blatantly false statements I've seen in awhile

Yep. You don't know what you have until teams like Nebraska struggle and his name comes up many times. Many people bitch that Iowa is so predictable, runs the boring offense, yata yata yata. You know what, Iowa has an identity which many teams like Nebraska do not at the moment or have difficulty finding. Iowa knows who it is and what they like to do, which allows them to recruit to their needs.

Nebraska has not identified with who they are on the field for a better part of a decade now (3-4 coaching changes every 2-4 yrs) and are grasping at straws. Teams like Iowa and Wisconsin know exactly who they are and the schools give them a pretty long leash for this day and age in college football.

I disagree. For example, Riley at Nebraska is a pass first kinda offensive coach...Always has been. Now there are many in the Nebby fan base who think Nebby's offense should be run first. It's not that Nebby hasn't established what kind of program Nebby is (its offense), it's that some of the genius Nebby fan base hasn't accepted this style of offense.

One could extrapolate that to the relationship between the (genius) Iowa fan base and KF because it's the opposite to Nebby. How many mediocrities, how many losing seasons has the Iowa fan base allowed KF to have? An infinite number of them? At least, do they criticize KF or some other facet of the Iowa football program like...I dunno, the offense?
