Good grief, will you guys quit with all the complaining.
This was a game we really wanted to win, obviously, but it's been a horrible game - also obvious. But let's keep this in perspective. We came into the season basically knowing it was a rebuilding/reloading year, so what did you really expect? There were going to be bumps in the road. It was going to be a roller coaster ride.
Iowa has done some good things this year, and Iowa has done some bad things this year. When the bad things start to snowball, you get a game like we've got today.
Plain and simply, a lack of execution has lost this game. Iowa cannot execute offensively to move the chains, and Iowa can't get Nebraska off the field on third down. The Huskers controlled the line of scrimmage, adn they've shut down our passing game behind two NFL cornerbacks. I'm always one who tends to give credit/blame to the players (you know, the guys who are actually responsible for playing on the field) no matter what happens, win or lose. But, I'm also of the opinion that this is a team - coaches and players alike. Iowa wins as a team, Iowa loses as a team. Kirk Ferentz is our guy, these are our players. I'll support them until they're not.
Let's get over this blame game, finger pointing thing. If you live your college football fandom from week to week, you're going to be disappointed more than not. It's a continual building process no matter what year it is.
