Hilliard Announces Top 5

i'm guessing the other schools on his list can lead him to the NFL just as well as iowa can. this will be about personal relationships.

They can lead them there but not keep them there. Ever listen to the herd? He has had several people on that he has interviewed where Bama players "fizzle" out once they are in the NFL and it isn't because of their talent. There is a reason why Iowa keeps producing 2 and 3 star talent into the NFL....Most of which have longer than average careers.

Yeah, like others have stated, this comes down to whether he wants to play for an NC or not. If yes, then it's prolly O$U, Bama & ND, in that order. If not, then why not Iowa? He'll get to the NFL regardless of which of the 5 schools he chooses. Someone speculated that maybe CJ would switch to d and they could possibly start on the same side of the ball. How cool would that be? Just think, we could have the Hilliard and Daniels brothers playing at Iowa, at the same time, and on the same sides of the ball.
Iowa's in on a few pretty good defenders in the upcoming classes. This guy could be quite the domino starter if he were to commit. This will be an interesting summer camp as most of the incoming class is coming in later on this week. If CJ does indeed go to defense (did he play corner in HS? I've only seen rb highlights) and enjoys his start, how could that not affect his decision? For a multitude of reasons it'd be a huge deal if Iowa got off to a hot start this year. It sure would help in the recruiting of this kid. I hope Hilliard was the new recruiting coordinators first call/text/email/tweet/FB/all of the above if that's what it takes...

Have you submitted the paperwork for the "Well Played, Mauer" button?

I did...and thank you for asking, MMH! The sad news is, Jon got a rather NASTY e-mail from the folks over at EASports...it seems that even though they have gone all chicken sh!t and jumped out of making collegiate sports games, they still have the rights to the classic tagline of one of their best professional sports games (and any subsequent phrases and/or likenesses) for quite some time...

I was going to lawyer up on this one, but OK4P said he wouldn't touch the case with a 10 foot pole...something about "career suicide" and whatnot...

Hilliard will be making his college announcement before the end of the month. I expect that he'll pick Ohio State.

Maybe he is pointing out he wants to bring other elite prospects with him because it is not the destination everyone expects, like Iowa. He does not have to work to bring top talent to OSU or Notre Dame. They already bring it in with little to no effort.

Thats what I was thinking. He wants to bring other elite prospects with him to OSU? That doesn't make sense.

i disagree with this. top talent guys have offers to the top schools. are you saying that he wouldn't have to work to bring a guy in who also has offers to Alabama, ND, Stanford, Oregon, LSU, etc. ?

I see what your saying and I think we all are reading too much into it. What he said could be used for any school he picks and I'm going to try and not read too much into it. It sounds like we'll know in a week or so and the wondering can stop then......Well at least till signing day anyway

He likes re-tweeting Iowa fans posts about him but I am sure he likes the attention, anyone would. Willie Atwood loved re-tweeting Iowa fans tweets and we all know how that ended.

Well atleast our name is being thrown out there making other recruits notice that we have a chance...guess it can't hurt
