Hawkeyes Dreams Dashed in Chicago

If the goal of the NCAA tournament was to get the best 68 teams in Iowa would be dancing...

I don't listen to Izzo at all. If it were up to that clown Lickliter would still be coaching at Iowa. So I don't care what that clown says.

Izzo knows that the BIG office ordained it to the refs to make sure Iowa lost. Been that way since 1982.

Yes, this comes off as a whiney rant.

Again another troll response. It was clearly evident that the refs were letting msu mug iowa.

It is a total anomaly for a hawk team that goes to the free throw line alot to not get there against an aggressive hand checking defense.

Only one thing logically makes sense the refs sucked a big one tonite.

yeah iowa didnt take care of the ball and needed to make 3 more jumpers in the last 10 minutes of the game but I think the zebras directed this game

Dude, sometimes the refs affect the game. And when the difference between winning and losing is thhhhhissss much, that tips the balance of the outcome. This isn't excuses. It's just facts.

Cry on.. When you don't score for almost 9 minutes to close a game you will most likely lose..

This is like the state-qualifier-wrestler (underclassman) who loses in the 2nd round and now is banished to the consolation side of the bracket.

What happens next?

Does he pout, wrestle poorly the next match and get pinned, bowing out in disgust?

Or does he keep doing what got him to state and give it his all and perhaps finish third?

Iowa's first round NIT game will encompass the above possible scenarios.

Quit and go home early, or overcome adversity and show your mettle for the next season?

I think the latter will occur before the former.

I feel like the victim of a train wreck.....

Iowa has had plenty of chances to quit this season and haven't done it, why would they do it now?

Sure, most times you will. But that's a good example of what people are talking about. What caused that scoring drought? Maybe the players and coaches caused 95% of it and the refs caused 5%. Or maybe it was 99:1. Or maybe 85:15 or 50:50. I don't know. But there was some effect that poor officiating had on those results. This is just reality. But you seem to attack anyone who brings that up the fact that the refs affect the game too. It's actually bizarre when you think about it.

Considering how close the game was and the effect the officiating had on the game might capture the committee's attention. Who knows, and some teams above us may fall harder.....

I will be pleased with the NIT and a long run to MSG......

Whatever, you just will not hold up your end of the bet.

The bet was it would take 10 wins and 1 or 2 in the tourney. You said 9 and finishing above IL and MN or something like that. So how'd you win?

I am wasting my breath since I can already tell you have no intention of paying off the bet. The bet was Iowa would be a bubble team with 9 conference wins and 1 win in the BTT.

You lost but obviously not a man of your words.

Stop the victim stuff. We are either victims or something is missing. it is the latter. We never had dreams dashed as this has been a prob all season long.
What u see as a problem, I see as a none ranked team beating up on the number 8th ranked team untill the 10 minute mark of the second half when the refs begin making phantom calls along with over a dozen no calls that gave the momentum and eventually the game away. Listen to Tom Izzo post game interview... he admitted his team was outplayed.
