Hawkeyes Dreams Dashed in Chicago

I had to wait to post until now because I was absolutely livid last night. The officiating cost us the game without question. Two bologna sandwich foul calls that immediately come to mind are the fouls on McCabe and White. McCabe didn't even touch the MSU player (Payne I think) when they attempted an alley oop late in the second half and the ball went out of bounds. Somehow McCabe got called for a foul despite the fact no contact was made. Then a little bit later White has a CLEAR clean block and gets called for the foul. Then of course you had the hand checking MSU was doing all game long without being called for a foul. It's good to see that they weren't able to pay off the refs today.

Boo Hoo Dude..

Was Marble being held when he dribbled into a double team and stepped out of bounds?? Was Clemmons being held when he tossed the ball out of bounds to a wide open player for a layup or dribbling into the lane with now where to go TWICE??

Maybe they weren't on those plays but there is a pretty good chance somebody else on our team was getting held at some point in those possessions.

Who really cares that you can point out mistakes we made? MSU made plenty of mistakes too. That's what happens when you play good teams. Fact of the matter is, we needed to play a more perfect game then MSU had to because of unbalanced officiating.

Officiating is the only reason we aren't undefeated this season. And Iowa obviously belongs in the Big Dance. Oops gotta go, monkeys are flying out of my butt again.

I don't know why you jablonies keep bringing up the ful on White on the late jumper. From the replay I saw it was pretty clear he got into the off elbow reaching through to make a block. Seemed like a pretty clear hack to me.

The last sentence is key. The best of bad is still bad. There is a reason a lot of these officials we know in the Big Ten have been around forever. They aren't good enough to ref in the NBA. The difference between officiating in college and the NBA night and day.

Both NCAA and NBA refs make bad calls.

The difference is that NBA refs sometimes get caught for throwing games.
