Guys, I'll be posting a JR/CJ comparison after every game . . .

. . . got any advice on the diplomatic track I should follow?

How are you going to compare them when they are playing against different defenses. There is no comparison between CJ vs Pitt's Dee and JR going against UNLV's defense. How do you compare and square the stats or are you doing this on 'feel'. I guess you could compare them on good vs bad reads, or some esoteric measure.

I was working on a long long long like Iowalaw long style post comparing the quarterback situation to the year where Shonn Greene went pro and a couple of marginal guys stepped up to replace him and the team had a real good year. You see, Jake Rudock would be like Shonn Greene who had accomplished everything he could at Iowa and had to move on. Then the other guy is like the Adam Robinson, a scrappy kid who comes in and hits the hole real well and falls forward for just enough yards to move the sticks. Isn't it crazy how much better 09 turned out compared to 08 when we had our best running back of the past fifteen years in the backfield. So its like this year is the same thing, but with the switch at quarterback, because......

Through 3 games:

CJ Beathard- 57-89 684yds 4td 1int 141.2rat
26car 142yds 3td

Jake Rudock- 59-91 582yds 3td 5int 118.5rat
11car 21yds 0td

There's my comparison! :) sunshine!!!

this thread ranks with the Alford updates ... NO ONE CARES

Rudock will make a living as a Doctor while CJB collects an NFL paycheck

Rudock is dead to me, all I think about now is how we could have had 2-3 more wins last year with him on the bench. And before all of you Rudock lovers start in on me, I will concede that it was not his fault, he did the best that he could and so on and so on.

I don't want to keep whipping ruddock, but frankly I can't just forget. You can't truly appreciate CJB, unless there are residual scars from ruddock the last two years. So realize he did his best, but we need to understand the context and hopefully enjoy what CJB does bring to the table.

Yeah. Don't.

It reeks of "little brother-ism" and crazy ex-girlfriend syndrome.

The whole situation worked out well for both players and both teams. Just let it go for cripes sake.

I'll agree to your demand if you do me one favor. Answer the following question.

You've read those posts where people claim we would be 1-2 with JR, right? So using that mathematical model we would've had at least 2 more victories last year had CJ been the starter. Right?

You aren't giving Jake credit, he did what the coaches wanted him to do for four years. Its not his fault that Ferentz switched to Directv over the offseason right after he left for Michigan.
